Develop guidelines for aligning document identifiers with dateline

Until now, FRUS TEI hasn't had a way to capture when a document identifier is left-aligned and on the same line as the right-aligned dateline. We have been the telegram number in a catch-all <p> following the <dateline>, e.g., frus1969-76v10#pg_527:

frus1969-76v10_d128_fragment

<dateline>
    <placeName>Washington</placeName>, <date when="1974-05-23">May 23,
        1974</date>.</dateline>
<p><gloss target="#t_NIE1">NIE</gloss> 53/14.3–1–74</p>

Since our typesetter is now using XML to drive the print edition, they requested guidance on a way to capture the alignment.

Add volume review checklist template to documentation

Hey everyone!

GitHub "Issues" that we're using for tracking volume reviews are also useful for tracking other tasks. I'm using this issue as reminder to myself to add the template for volume review checklists to the wiki. When I'm done, I'll be able to check it off as done.

Please feel free to use Issues to add other ideas you have for improving this wiki.

Problem with PDF layers in frus1969-76ve02

The PDFs in this volume are exhibiting strange behavior:

  • When opening the PDF linked in the sidebar at http://history.state.gov/historicaldocuments/frus1969-76ve02/d189 in the browser (Chrome), we only see the declass stamp, aka slug
  • When downloading this PDF and opening it in Acrobat or Preview, the image and slug appears
  • When opening the page image linked in the sidebar, only the image shows, not the slug

It seems that the PDF layers in these files are a little messed up. I checked #d190 too, and it had the same problem.

If you see problems like this in other electronic-only volumes, please add a note here. I may need to regenerate the PDFs and images for affected volumes.
