bfl-release's Issues

bfl/src/filter/mixtureParticleFilter.cpp:105:27: error: member reference base type 'Mixture<SVar> *'

I am getting compilation errors when building with clang on Mac. Here the log

        result == result && this->ResampleOne(i);
               ^

To solve this issue I had to change . operator to -> at mixtureParticleFilter.cpp:105, mixtureParticleFilter.cpp:111, mixtureParticleFilter.cpp:113.

Compile when bfl is a dependency in melodic

I am trying to compile wg_perception/peoples

The people_tracking_filter has orocos-bf as a dependency
# Look for bfl (Bayesian Filtering Library)
find_package(PkgConfig)
pkg_check_modules(BFL REQUIRED orocos-bfl)

If i understand well in the Melodic i have ros-melodic-bfl that would be a "version" of orocos-bfl
It is installed in my PC but not recognised as a ros package ?
roscd ros-melodic-bfl or roscd bfl gives roscd:
No such package/stack 'xxxxxx'
so even if i modify the cmakelist.txt for one of these i still get an error?

It is not the first time that i have a problem with that dependency with orocos-bfl.
All the time a gave up at the end ?

Release into ROS Jade

This is a dependency of the navigation stack, so we need to get it released, unfortunately, I went to release it this evening and found that the svn repo for upstream seems to be gone. Thats going to need to be dealt with....

Release for Lunar

bfl has appeared on the blocking list for lunar release: http://repositories.ros.org/status_page/blocked_releases_lunar.html?q=label%3D%22UNBLOCKED%22&s=6&r=1

The svn server dissapeared for Kinetic so we rereleased using the existing imported 0.7 version in this repo: 7b4f454

However now I see that there's a 0.8 release listed with a tarball: http://www.orocos.org/orocos/source-code-2 and a new github repo: https://github.com/toeklk/orocos-bayesian-filtering is linked from the home page. It's not clear where the best source would be for Lunar. The new git repo has a slightly different layout with the orocos-bfl package in a subdirectory.

@toeklk might you have a suggestion whether it's worth moving forward to 0.8 for ROS Lunar or just repackaging 0.7 for now?

@mikaelarguedas FYI Re Lunar progress

compilation error with dynamic reconfigure

Hi,

When trying to compile a node which includes BFL and a generated dynamic reconfigure header file, the compilation gives the following error in the generated dynamic reconfig header file:

... error: expected identifier before numeric constant
... error: expected unqualified-id before numeric constant
... error: expected } at end of input
...

This can be verified by compiling an empty executable with the following includes:

#include <ros/ros.h>
#include <bfl/filter/extendedkalmanfilter.h>
#include <dynamic_reconfigure/server.h>
// Dynamic reconfig header:
#include <package/ParamConfig.h>

I am running hydro. I can put up a small example with a node if necessary.

Release to ROS2

This issue is to request a ROS2 release of Orocos BFL. It seems that bfl does not have ROS dependencies, and could hopefully be released as-is into the ROS2 buildfarm. For what it's worth, I've added some potentially useful links below:

Compile error on OS X

I don't see that anything changed here, but on a fresh checkout of groovy desktop I get this now:

I have a fix, I'll submit a patch soon. After testing on Linux the patch should be put into the release repo. (Or maybe elevated to the bfl tracker)

hydro system release broken

The current hydro system release of bfl is broken. The patches from groovy need to be ported over to hydro. The process is explained here: http://answers.ros.org/question/63186/how-do-i-release-a-3rd-party-library-to-hydro-with-the-same-patches-as-groovy/

@wjwwood If I am not mistaken, I should be able to port the patches on a fork and submit a pull request for the releases/hydro/bfl branch. Do you foresee any problems? This would just mean that only git-bloom-patch and git-bloom-release should be left to be run.
