I2C Compatibility?

Sorry for the issue, but I could find no other way to contact you.

I'm researching the BNO055's I2C compatibility with the Raspberry Pi 3, and Adafruit claims that it doesn't work at all with the Pi.

Normally the BNO055 is connected to a device using its I2C interface, however on the Raspberry Pi the BNO055's use of I2C clock stretching will cause problems with a hardware I2C clock stretching bug in the Raspberry Pi.

You've obviously written code that claims to do the opposite, so I'm curious, how were you able to accomplish this? Have you actually used this code on a Pi, or is it a WIP? Adafruit sells this product, so if it worked with I2C, I assume they'd be marketing that as a feature, not admitting a bug.
