Thanks for getting back to this! The simplest thing for me would be to get a pull request with the urdf_parser_py package, next to urdf_parser. The difference now is that this has to be a regular python package, not a ROS package. I will update the release repo (in rosg-gbp) to add a package.xml for proper installation within ROS.

Hi,
I am on holidays this week and the next. I will look into this when I come
back.

I think the proposed solution is fine. Bonus points if we can preserve the
history somehow (git-filter-branch?)

I think preserving history can be done. If urdf_parser_py is alone in its repo, the histories can be 'merged'. I can take care of that step. I am not sure how to filter commits from a repo that includes more things, to construct one that has just urdf_parser_py. Enjoy the holiday!

Where are we on that ? It is leaving calibration in a dirty state. Best instructions I found to copy a file from one repo to another while preserving history:

As I am back from holidays, I will try to handle this next week and send a pull request.

great, thx ! Except that hydro is due to be released in the next few days .... I hope that can be done before that. If not, let me know and I'll revert some changes in calibration.
That seems like a trivial change though. Do you need help ? What needs to be done ? Thx.
