That certainly would be helpful. All you'd have to do is build a
controller that spits out JSON with the location and information about
alerts based on what's in the database. Then create a page that is
passed in that controller's URL to
enhancedmap_helper::set_map(); I don't have time to do this right now,
but if someone else does I'd be happy to pull in the changes.

It would be great if this plugin could also show a map of alert
recipients. The information of where each recipient is and how many
alerts have been sent to them is already in the database,
automatically plotting the recipients on the admin map would greatly
enhance the usefulness of this information. Please see Ushahdi_web

Update for VAW hackathon:

Problem 14: Develop a map and a database of all initiatives on VAW. There are many organizations working to reduce VAW and providing a range of services. Many times the organizations are not aware of each other’s services. A map and database that shows who is working on what would enable better coordination. This would also indicate which geographic or service area is underserved.

This problem(14 above) could be addressed with a "who is doing what where" plugin for Ushahidi, this plugin could map the database of (offices of) organizations signed up for alerts. The database already tracks the e-mail address, phone number, location, and whether they receive alerts of incidents in their area (and the radius of the area for which they want to receive alerts). It could be altered to include extra information about the organizations and what they do, category tags for which organization an office works for, and which issues that organization works on, and whether to display the organization publicly (whether in the admin map in the backend, or the public map). The "who is doing what where" map could then be displayed over maps of incidents as a layer, making it easy to match up reported issues to organizations that are working on them.

The added value of creating this as a plugin for ushahidi over other types of mapping, is that the organizational offices could then be easily marked and even deliver automatic alerts of incidents.

Hopefully @jetherton will be available to answer queries of any teams attempting to do this tomorrow :)
