Ciaran:

I haven't been able to reproduce this error on windows, but I didn't try until today. It worked for me using the jruby 1.6.5.1 that shipped with TorqueBox 2.0.0.beta2. Can you give that a try? I'm planning on publishing a beta gem that will work with beta2 in the near future, so you hopefully won't need to jump through these hoops in the future.

Hi Tobias

I will try again in the next couple of days. I just bumped up to the beta 2 today, so hopefully it will work.

I'll let you know!

Hi Tobias

I just tried that there and it failed with the same error. Just to confirm, my JRuby environment is as follows:

jruby 1.6.5.1 (ruby-1.9.2-p136) (2011-12-27 1bf37c2) (Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 1.7.0_02) [Windows 7-amd64-java]

I'm looking forward to seeing what backstage can offer so please let me know if this is fixed, or if the gem is published.

Cheers.

Do you have JRUBY_OPTS=--1.9 set? It looks like there is an issue building under 1.9 mode. I was able to build on windows fine with jruby --1.8 -S gem build torquebox-backstage.gemspec even with 1.9 set in JRUBY_OPTS. I've released a 1.0.0.beta1 of backstage to rubygems, but it is currently broken on windows (see issue #12), so you'll still need to build from source.

I hope to resolve #12 today and push out a beta2 shortly thereafter.

I do have JRUBY_OPTS=--1.9 set, and I can build the gem if I pass --1.8. However, once that is done and I install the gem I get issue #12. So I guess I'll try again after you resolve #12 and publish the gem.

Thanks!

@ciaranarcher - is this still a problem for you? Or can I close this issue?
