dl-hw0's Issues

Optimizing matrix multiplication

I think the language used in the matrix multiplication problem statement is misleading: it uses language that indicates it's an easy problem ("nothing crazy", "just 3 loops", "just change ordering"), but in fact I'm relatively certain that the student needs to implement tiling matrix multiplication in order to get the "about 4 seconds" timing that the author cites.

If the author intends for students to implement tiling matrix multiplication, I think it makes sense to remove the "3 for loops" part, because (at least in my implementation) I used 6 for loops to implement it. I actually thought maybe the author wanted students to simply implement naive, row-major iteration of A and col-major iteration of B matrix multiplication, but I was getting ~30 seconds for that, so I was almost certain that couldn't be correct.

Section 5 Clarification

I know it says it in the notebook for section 5, but I'd recommend adding a single line to the README about re-downloading the completed mnist_pytorch.ipynb from colab.

Minor issue, but would help with clarity.
