blenderstairs's Issues

Port stairs functions to TypeScript for use with Babylonjs

Hello there,

I have started working on a project with Babylonjs with the intent of releasing it as an open source project when finished.
I was directed to your repo because I am interested in creating architecture and it seems that your Blender addon is use by members of the forum.
I have created a stairs function but I think a curved stairs function would be a little trickier.

I was wondering have you ever used Babylonjs and would you be interested in trying to create a curved stairs function?
I have been looking at the code for kitfoxStairsCurved.py but it's not a straight port.

[question] How to read various dimensions after creating stairs?

Hi,

This is a question (more related to Blender I guess), not an issue. Hope others will find it useful too.

After creating the stairs, how can one measure various dimensions?
For example: https://diy.stackexchange.com/questions/171461/staircase-design-review

More specifically, on curved stairs I'd like to learn the walk line at 2/3, 3/4 and 4/4 of the stair width.

Thanks!

I did try the measure tool, but the dimensions vary depending on zoom level

Does not work for Blender 3.0?

I downloaded the zip of the repo, installed it, got this message:

Modules Installed () from 'G:\...\Blender files\plugins\blenderStairs-master.zip' into 'C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\3.0\scripts\addons'

but the plugin does not appear in the list.

enhancement: params depending on Step type

When selecting Step type, show only relevant params editable, eg
Step type=Num Stairs

  • edit only NumSteps
  • Step height should be disabled and changing as NumSteps is modified.

Step type=Stair height

  • edit only Step height
  • NumSteps should be disabled and changing as Step height is modified.

Thanks
