Mayan EDMS is a wonderful product with a lot of features. However, its sheer number of features and capabilities can be a bit intimidating for the average user. This is where Open Paperless comes in. Open Paperless is a re-think of the user interface and user experience for Mayan EDMS. The goal is to reduce the complexity and make it more suitable for home users. Think of Open Paperless as a lightweight version of Mayan EDMS.

Hardware requirements

• 2 Gigabytes of RAM (1 Gigabyte if OCR is turned off).
• Multiple core CPU (64 bit, faster than 1 GHz recommended).
• Ubuntu 16.10 or greater.

Installation

• sudo apt-get install git-core -y
• git clone https://github.com/zhoubear/open-paperless.git
• cd open-paperless
• ./setup.sh
• ./run.sh

Future

• Virtual machine image for Windows and Mac users.
• Deployment script.
• Hosting setup (something like Terraform).
• Mobile app.
• Kubernetes setup.
• SSL by default.
• Anything users suggest.

Hello, your tool looks really interesting.
Would it be possible to have an Docker version so that people can test it quickly and effortlessly?

database locked

When trying to add my first file from a local server source folder, I get the following error:

User input document label

Hello

I am trying to add a step to the wizard when uploading a new document where user can enter the name (label) manually.

I have added the step to the wizard and its working but the value of the label is still as the current situation.
(The label entered by user is not stored to the database)

Any guidance or help ?

Travis testing is not yet turned on for this repo

Travis testing is free for open source projects like this one. Turning it on would require going to https://travis-ci.org/profile/zhoubear and logging in with Github credentials and then switching the toggle for this repo to the on position. This is a great way to find bugs before your users do.

Running on localhost

After installation its running on localhost.
How to run on '0.0.0.0:8000'

Landscape Documents do not OCR correctly.

As the title states with landscape docs the OCR scan will return junk.

This is a direct copy and license change of Mayan EDMS

The only changes made were to conceal the name Mayan EDMS and add a patreon link.

Error when running run.sh

Encountered an exception when trying to execute the run.sh. (please refer to attached screenshot)

I recently stumbled across this and would like to use it, but don't really want to start using software that's EOL before I even started.

So, is this project dead?

Documentation is somewhat lacking

Love the interface, looking for information on semi-basic questions.

1. This is a fairly fleshed out interface, are there any menu guides?
2. What/how is the default document storage location?
3. With the given setup/run sh files, how would I go about configuring a connection to my pre-existing database?

./setup.sh & ./run.sh. directory not found
