ar150-wifipineapple's Introduction

DEPRECATED!

This project was deprecated in favor of his younger brother Universal Wifi pineapple hardware cloner https://github.com/xchwarze/wifi-pineapple-cloner
There you can find the firmware for the AR150 along with other firmware for other devices and even the method I developed to do this!

AR-150 WiFi Pineapple NANO

Converting your AR-150 to a WiFi Pineapple NANO should be an easy process. However, the web & git is full of broken bin images and botched firmware builders... resulting in a broken or partially-working firmware. The latest working build available elsewhere is 2.4.2. Here, we start with version 2.5.4. This version is almost 100% equal of the original hardware.

Summary for 2.7.x:

  1. Rootfs 1M (mini 1.2M)
  2. PineAP(d) working.
  3. Drivers for: kmod-rt2800, kmod-rtl8187 and others
  4. Kernel 4.14.171 (OpenWrt 19.02.2)
  5. Fix LAN and WAN ports. No more swapped ports.
  6. Use pendrive like original SD.

Notes

  1. For format jffs2 (overlayFS) use jffs2reset command.
  2. If you are stuck at the message "The WiFi Pineapple is still booting" don't panic, this is a known issue with running the WiFi Pineapple firmware on the AR150. Executing the command jffs2reset -y && reboot should resolve your problems.
  3. For generate a custom build or make a "Wifi Pineapple Tetra" use this toolset
I also made a second repo with all the builds already done for various routers from TPlink, GL.iNet, D-Link and Buffalo

ar150-wifipineapple's Issues

web GUI / SSH not working ?

I just got an GL-AR150 router and flashed the 2.0.7 optimized firmware using the original web GUI of the router, on the upgrade firmware section.
Then, I rebooted the AR150 and it proprely showed up as "Pineapple_94B0", I can also connect myself.
But when i try to see the web GUI, nothing happend.
I tried to connect using the regular IP of the supposed web interface: http://172.16.42.1:1471/
I first thought that the IP address had not been set correctly so i tried to use the router ip wich were: http://169.254.121.246/
but nothing as well.
Is it a common issue, or maybe i did something wrong ?

Pineapple Invalid Argument

hi there, ive encountered an issue where the pineapple doesn't want to do internet sharing on my kali linux box and all it shows as detecting and on rare occations if it detects it says "invalid argument" and just shows the screen to the web gui. please help. and im a beginner Youtuber named 'unkn0wn" and i have tried this before but with a 50% success rate i want to get a 100% success rate and do a video on my channel on this. www.youtube.com/c/blankdot1 . And i want to make this a big project. i want to work with you and dev on some ideas and bring it to life. please contact me via email [email protected] so i can express further on the ideas i have and what we can do. please can you contact me and help me with this issue :) thanks!

More than willing to acknowledge your credit.

Hello, sorry for opening an issue, but I hope this will make us communicate.

Since months I'm looking for a way to build an up to date firmware for the GL-AR300M.
A you stated, the last known version of pineapple fw is 2.4.2, and I can't even say if it works or not.
Your repo here looks very promising!
Could you teach me how to port the latest version of pineapple firmware to the AR300M?

I think you're my only chance. The community is quite chaotic about these ports. Yours looks like the most systematic I encountered, but I have a different model to work with.

I congratulate for your excellent up to date work, and hope to learn how to replicate this excellence on another model.

Question

This is not an issue. First, thank you for maintaining this and keeping us all up-to-date. I have tried to follow a few other guides online to build my own. However quite a few of the links available are out of date, or point to gits/ firmware builders that are no longer maintained. I am interested in trying this project on a gl-inet AR750
GL-AR750
Powered by Qualcomm QCA9531 SoC,650MHz CPU
300Mbps(2.4G) + 433Mbps(5G) high speed
DDR2 128MB RAM
Support external storage up to 128GB
16MB Nor flash
Small, light, easy to use
OpenWrt/LEDE pre-installed

This Same CPU was used in the GL-AR300, which has already proven to run the PineAP firmware.

I have followed instructions for extracting the firmware for the Tetra 2.6.2 using binwalk, However, I'm not sure if cloning the current openwrt 19.07 git and continuing with the instructions I've found is the best step or not, the instructions i'm following are dated, and suggest cloning https://github.com/domino-team/openwrt-cc, which is openwrt 15.05. this doesn't seem to be a step in the right direction. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated, It could be pretty cool to have a low cost Tetra for development as well 👍

Eprom GL-AR150

Good morning, I could do a 16mb Ci eprom backup to get my gl-ar150 back

can't start PineAP

can't start PineAP
can't start scan in Recon
shows error Status: Monitor interface won't start! Try to run manually airmon-ng start wlan1

How to build it?

I am thinking of getting a new ar150 since I broke mine, were you able to still use this for building it?

Memory

Hi! It’s not an issue it’s just a small question. I have lack of memory on gl-ar to install new modules. I just wanted to get to know how to install usb stick?
Thanks in advance your Dog.

jffs2reset (and timezone)

I haven't been able to get the time zone to stick, it reverts. Everything else seems fine, install was smooth.

Thanks for all you do, xchwarze!

PineApd did not work.

First of all thx for your great work. I guess i have done somthing wrong. Maybe wrong setting. Flashing over Uboot with no problem. I have a RTL8192CU usb wifi for second wifi. It is visible as wmon1. Till now i did not use Usb for second storage. I have tryed all of your builts with same problem. When i try to start Recon the Pineapd shows a bargraph running. But when its finished it shows that there are no logs, and that i should run Recon first. Somtimes when i try to give Recon a second try Pineapd didn,t start. When i try to aktivate Pineapd over menue "Pineap" most times it did not change its status. Sometimes it changes from off to on, but just for a few seconds. What have i done wrong?

PineAP cant enabled

Sorry for my english

  • i download your 2.7.0.xx new bin file for AR150
  • i flash it to mw GL AR150 150M (AR150 without antena)
  • when i start Recon, PineAP cant start
  • then i going to PineAP menu, i cant switch PineAP to enabled

Can you help me?

No initial setup

After flashing firmware I accessed the initial web GUI page and appears the login form even without making the initial setup. Is there a default password or is there a way to force the initial setup?
Regards

AR300M variant

Awesome work. Been using the 2.7.0 build you did. I have a AR300M, I found a version of 2.0.2. And I've been trying to compile my own version of 2.7.0 for the AR300M. Been able to extract the files with binwalk but no experience with openwrt firmwares and keep getting met with errors. Any chance of a version compiled for the AR300M. With the 2.0.2 version it just seems abit snappier than on the ar150

The WiFi pineapple is still booting infinitely

I'm stuck in a loop of "The Wifi pineapple is still booting, Please wait until the WiFi Pineapple has fully booted. The setup will continue automatically."

doesn't matter how long i wait, i won't change, can someone help me please? (:

Problem with ssh conection and install some modules dependecies

Hello. I'm using this firmware gl-ar150-nano-2.6.2-private.bin in my ar150 but I can't connect to ssh and I can't install dependencies to sslplit module. I have flashed the firmware a few times but It doesn't work. Anyone has any idea how can I solve this? Thank you all

Creating Documentation

Hello, I am planning to make a nice guide on how to do this in the coming weeks and I have some questions.
I plan to make a website with screenshots and a good step by step list of instructions linking to this repo.
Before doing that I have some questions:

  1. Is there an existing guide out there?

  2. Is this the best / most up to date repo for the AR150?

  3. Are there any notable disadvantages to using an AR150 vs the Hak5 product?

  4. What is the difference between?

  • gl-ar150-nano-2.7.0.12-normal.bin
  • gl-ar150-nano-2.7.0.12-optimized.bin
  1. When are these run?
  • set flash IP.bat
  • set pineapple IP.bat
  1. Is the "gpl" folder needed for installation?

... I also plan to compare it with a Pumpkin Pi (raspberry pi alternative)

Thanks!
