Re-scramble feature for headlines that are close to being funny?

Oh and a re-scramble feature for headlines that are so close to being funny but just miss it by a few words. Something to use the same sources but in a different order.

Ability to delete saved headlines if it doesn't have any votes

Sometimes I read too quickly and save a headline that isn't actually that funny. Could we have a feature where, if a headline doesn't have any votes yet (and this would be zero if I unsaved), the headline is deleted from the database/my history? Thanks!

Add some more info to the user page

• 10 highest scoring headlines
• Highest ranked headline in daily rankings with position
• Highest ranked headline in overall ranking with position

Also it would be useful to be able to sort the saved headlines list by score.

Select random headline

Hello Wil,
There's a unix program called "fortune" which effectively gives some random fortune cookie-like quote or message. I'm thinking something like that, but sourced from headlinesmasher, would be an awesome program - especially if a random message with a minimum number of votes could be selected.

Karma Leaderboard tampering...

Someone or a group of people are tampering with the Karma leaderboard. I have reached the leaderboard a few times this week. Each time I make it to the top ten I am spam down-voted off the leaderboard, likely by someone on the board or close to the board.

I complained earlier about this happening a few days ago, in the last hour I have lost over 100 karma points after finally earning my way back on the leaderboard.

Site dead?

The entire page has been broken for quite a while. Sorry for this super unproductive, non-technical message.

Friend/follow list

I'd love to be able to subscribe to certain users' feeds - what they created and the headlines they upvoted. Then, when I sign in, I could choose to see my friend's feed instead of the best headlines first. PS: You are my favorite person in the universe right now & this is the best thing of 2013. Thank you and good tidings.

Case correction inappropriately turns words into Scottish surnames

For example machines ends up as MacHines, macros becomes MacRos etc.

Karma loss / mass downvotes

Hello Will,

I signed up an account (the great grumbledook) with HS several hours back, and had saved ~ 110 headlines when my karma meter shot down from 40 to -74 in a matter of seconds, due to each of my headlines recieving one downvote. I'm not particularly concerned about the karma loss, but the fact that it all happened in such a short amount of time makes me think it's a bug or security error instead of anonymous/user voting. Is it possible for you to look into this?

Karma count not correct.

I had a feeling my karma count should have been higher so I added up the first page of my best ones and I was right. I came out way higher. What's up with that?

Button to redisplay the previous set of generated headlines

A few times I've clicked the generate button only to realise there's a good headline in the ones I already had. Sometimes I manage to save it before the headlines are replaced but not always, so it would be useful if there was a button to swap between the current and last sets of headlines for when this happens.

Site isnt working

I'm extremely busy with college so I didn't have time to bring this up but the site doesn't seem to be working.

Once again no pressure, this year's my senior research seminar so I'm busy.

Icons not displaying in Firefox

I have the same problem Shadowfoxx757 has with icons not displaying, though on my system I get random chars instead of the Unicode squares. I'm using Firefox 25.

I spotted a couple of CSS errors in the Firebug console:

I found this Stack Overflow question about a similar problem, you need to set Access-Control-Allow-Origin headers for the font files. There's some instructions for doing that with Cloudfront here.

Integrate some kind of commenting system

Hey, your site is hilarious.
Maybe it could become a real community if you add some kind of commenting system.

People could comment to imagine what the story for the headline would be like. It would become even more addictive.

Karma Algorithm improvements

If I remove a vote for a headline I saved, my karma goes down. Perhaps this is good since it discourages saving headlines that aren't actually funny, but I find it a bit strange. Is this the intended behavior?

Site seems to be broken

Hi, I've noticed for the past few weeks this site seems to not be working properly, now this is no pressure, I know you're probably busy (I am too with college) but wanted to let you know.

Accidentally used a slash in my username, now can't access userpage

Is there a way an admin could change my username to just beerinthebabyseat without the /u/ in front?

Idea... show the 10 (or so) most recent headlines on smash new headline page...

I think more people would vote if you could see other peoples headlines while looking for new ones. It would fit well under the "Advanced options"
