zynq-ipmc-hw's Issues

UART_TX missing a series resistor

UART_TX misses a series resistor to avoid signal reflection. Can be added to main board.

Consider adding the delay CPLD to the IPMC

As the title says.

Resistor in JTAG_MASTER_TDO wrongly placed

Resistor in JTAG_MASTER_TDO should be in JTAG_MASTER_TDI. JTAG_MASTER_TDO is an input from the controller side, there isn't a need for a resistor.

Remove DC bias voltage registors for LEDs

Different LEDs required different voltages and thus different serial resistors. Remove them from IPMC and let the main board developer handle it.

DS1818 reset IC is reversed

Check Altium footprint for errors and modify it properly.

Remove IPMB A/B pull-ups

The pull-ups might pull the lines low when the ATCA blade is inserted into the crate.

Consider adding pull-down to PS pin to identify different revisions

BASE-T transformer is flipped

On revision 8201216: H5077NL is inverted on the schematic and PCB.

Pull back copper mask on miniDIMM connector

On revision 8201216: There should be a slack between the solder mask and the copper on the miniDIMM connector.

N25Q128A13EF740F discontinued

N25Q128A13EF740F has been discontinued, Micron recommends MT25QL128ABA1EW7-0SIT as a functional substitute.

Remove R109 from HNDL_SW

Switch bias current resistor should be defined in the main board since it depends on the switch type. Consider making this pin a GPIO too.

LED footprint is reversed

Silkscreen is tagging the anode instead of the cathode, it needs to be reversed.

Use gerber layout in online gerber viewer

Hey UW Madison CMS Group,

My name is Nils, my company is building an online gerber viewer and we are looking for some good looking example projects. We would like to add the ZYNQ IMPC gerber files as an example project into our viewer. As it is released under MIT License it should not be a problem but I wanted to ask anyway.

The viewer will be available under stackrate.de/viewer (anytime soon)

Connect one PS pin to VCC or GND to distinguish different IPMC hardware revisions during boot

Change the +12V sense divider resistors from 1% to 0.1%

AMCs signals with pull-ups can cause sneaky paths.

Either change the spec for the pins to be defaulted to GND or remove the pull-ups from the IPMC and add them to the mainboard where they can be connected to +3V3MP_AMCx.
I2C lines also affected since they are pulled-up on the IPMC.

Change Zynq flash IC to one with higher capacity

Consider using the ZYNQ-7014S

Cheaper and single-core. Should be pin compatible.
