Also, just looking at where the code has gone on this and want to say I really like where this project is going.

same here,
i think this app should be simplified for people interested in experiment with fast api.
I am not here to fiddle with docker ( it took me 2 days to set it up ) which is little overwhelming.
yet I can't run the tests or server.

Can confirm that this is caused by #72 and the workaround provided by @borland667 resolves the issues with the tests.
