FAQ

• How to use the theme in EAP?
  • If you have already installed Gradianto on a non-EAP version of Intellij and switch to EAP then it might not work for you out of the box. Reinstalling the plugin from the marketplace will fix this problem
• My colors are not correct!
• If you have just applied the theme then it is recommended that you restart your IDE so that the plugin can load proper colors. If there are still inconsistencies then please feel free to open an issue to this repository.

Installation

1. Open Preferences -> Plugins -> Marketplace (Located in the upper tab) and search for Gradianto
2. Install the plugin
3. Click restart your IDE
4. Open Preferences -> Appearance & Behavior -> Appearance and select any one of the gradient of the Gradianto theme in the theme dropdown.
5. Click Apply and enjoy the theme.

Alternative

If you are having trouble with the above method, you may try this :

1. Go to Gradianto plugin download page
2. Click Versions
3. Download the latest Jar file
4. Go to Preferences -> Plugins
5. click the cog icon at the top
6. Click Install Plugin from Disk...
7. Select the JAR file you downloaded in step 1
8. Restart your IDE
9. Open Preferences -> Appearance & Behavior -> Appearance and select any one of the gradient of the Gradianto theme in the theme dropdown.
10. Click Apply and enjoy the theme.

Deep Ocean - git and highlight current branch

As you can see, the Deep Ocean theme seems to be leaking this feature:

Dark Fuchsia does not show red mark on the scroll bar

The scroll bar on the right shows errors, warnings and more.
Clear coding errors are not marked red but yellow instead.
This is a bit misleading.

Should it be fixed? Or am I the only one with this issue?

Search popup, minor adjustment [thats driving me nuts!]

Thanks for the theme I love it. I've just got one issue that my OCD just cant let go, believe me I've tried.

When using the find anything popup, the foreground selection color is too dark [as in the highlighted "Aba" below] and makes it hard to read. Any chance of changing this or at least telling me what theme property controls this I've tried to find it with no success..

3.10 update missing Editor->Color Scheme items

After updating to 3.10 via the Plugin update in IntelliJ IDEA all the Gradianto entries are gone from the Editor->Color Scheme->Scheme dropdown menu.

Rolling back to 3.9 restored the list.

It removes the ability to use Alt-Enter in Dart files

As in title, using the theme i'm not able to user Alt + Enter shortcut for code generation.

Hope it will be fixed as soon as possible, i do really enjoy the theme!

Not working in 2020.2 EAP

Some popup have items that are a a difficult to read contrast

How to reporduce:

1. Type a something that the spell check don't like
2. Hover the underline text with the mouse

Notice the gray items.

I'm not sure how color should adjusted, I see two ways at this time.

1. reduce the brightness of the popup background
2. or make these items less dark gray

Toolbar items are not displayed correctly in DataGrip

What/Why

The table data editor, query console, and results table toolbar doesn't seems to be displayed correctly when using Gradianto themes in DataGrip.

Steps to reproduce

1. Change appearance theme to Gradianto (Dark Fuchsia / Deep Ocean / Midnight Blue)
2. Open table data editor/query console
3. Hover on any of the item in the toolbar
4. The toolbar items displayed in the toolbar will be disoriented as you hover through the items

I have also tried to reproduce the issue on another DataGrip instance installed in another PC, and I was able to reproduce the issue.

New UI and whitespaces

with the new UI themes I can't see the whitespaces despite the "Editor->General->Appearance->Show whitespaces" is enabled.

Nature Green not in 2020.2

Nature Green theme seems to be missing from 2020.2 release?

When selecting items in a dropdown list, the highlighting is ambiguous / confusing.

This is a dropdown list that's presented when selecting the "Add Import" option.

Using:

• Webstorm 2020.3 on Mac
• Gradianto Nature Green theme v4.4

Description:

In this image, the Top item is selected. But the yellow background of the lower item is brighter and seems like it should be selected.

Yellow is typically a "highlight" colour, so it seems like it should be the selected item. And the green colour is the "default" colour of the UI, so it seems like it should be the "not selected" item.

The selected item has brighter text, which is good, but the brighter text it is conflicting with information from the background colour, and the two sort of cancel each other out. The change to the text is also more subtle than the change in background colour, so it is overpowered.

Every time I use this dialog, I have to consciously remember that the highlighted option is not selected.

Proposed Solutions

1. Have the "selected" item use the yellow background colour, and the "not selected" item use the green colour.

2. Have the "not selected" item use the "standard" green, and apply some other style to the background of the selected item.

3. Have the "not selected" item use the same green as the title of the window for its background. Leave "selected" item as it is.

IntelliJ light and Darcula have a transparent overlay when dragging editors, but when gradianto is used the overlay is opaque.

So recently I wondered if you had an orange based color theme in mind to reflect the Gradianto Nature in autumn.

How did you came up with the colors, especially in dark mode? My main inspiration would be autumn pictures

Memory indicator is not colored properly

Enabled the memory indicator and it seems the gauge colors are not handled.

WebStorm 2020.2 incompatible with the Gradianto plugin

WebStorm released version 2020.2 yesterday, and it seems that the Gradianto plugin is incompatible:
Plugin Error: Plugin "Gradianto" is incompatible (until build 201.SNAPSHOT < WS-202.6397.88).

The Gradianto plugin still works fine in other Jetbrains apps I'm using (Rider 2020.1.4, DataGrip 2020.1.5)

More obvious hint when there is error in code

Hi,i am using gradianto in idea,and its a cool theme in my work experience.However,there is something i think is not very friendly to users.The problem is that when there is error in my code,i cant distinguish
between error and warning,because their hint color is so close!So,is there some solution to solve the problem or someother workaround?

The plugin is not supported in Android Studio 3.4

I can't install this plugin in Android Studio 3.4.
Am i missing or something or it is just not supported?

Gradianto Light theme

I am literally in love with the theme Deep Ocean.

But in the morning I have to change another bright (non-gradianto) light theme.

Gradianto homesickness kicks in and I produce sad code.

Is there a Gradianto Light theme in the roadmap? 🚂

Gradianto Dark Fuschia - PHP - background styled green

In the latest update (4.0 or 4.1 I believe), opening up PHP files shows a dark green background which I can only assume comes from Gradianto Nature Green.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the editor color scheme background is being inherited from 'Language Defaults' -> 'Template Language'

Dark Fuchsia does not show visual guides (Code Style)

The dark Fuchsia theme does not show the visual guides, i.e. the hard wrap margin line (which is typically set at column 80 oder 120).

The other two themes show the visual guides properly.

Since the theme didn't end up looking like in the screenshots upon installation, I wanted to know what font is used in the screenshots and if there are any settings corresponding to the font.

Narrow scroll bars have poor contrast, especially in Deep Ocean

Narrow scroll bars are in the Settings window and side panels. It is not so bad in most side panels, but it is very hard to see in the Settings window, and more importantly, the panels in the various Android Studio XML editors because they use the darker shade of blue for the background. I keep having to squint and lean close to the screen to find the scroll bar.

Errors are a little hard to see in nature green

The green one does not show.

Kind of odd, since it is the one shown on the marketplace.

Question: Customizing UI Colors

I noticed that the UI colors above should be dark when the window is inactive and the theme is dark, but it seems that you have customized these colors. Could you please explain which option is responsible for these color customizations?

As shown in my picture, when my window is not in active state, the color on top changes to the light theme color.

Hello my friend! I address to you again... Some flattering words: you have the best plugin!

And now for the problem: I really like the theme "newui nature green", but I stopped using it because it doesn't show well when the text is highlighted. For example in the theme "newui deep ocean" highlighted text can be seen well. If you have time, please do something about it.

Another nyuansom noticed if I open two projects on macos (by selecting in different windows, in the idea is the same window, but in different tabs), so the active project (its tab), highlighted in gray (I think it is the native color ide jb). I hope you understand what I'm talking about )).

Updating the plugin forces IntelliJ theme change

After an update to version 3.1.0, Gradianto reapplied the Midnight blue theme even though I was using Darcula at that time.
