Using a fresh install of the Mozilla Plugin, the redirect of a twitter address ending with /tweets fails.
When browsing Twitter with no redirection, the /tweets suffix is automatically stripped.

Ex: https://twitter.com/raymondh/tweets

nitter.net seems to be overloaded quite often and is then not reachable. Then I have to deactivate the extension to switch to twitter.com. It would be easier if I can deactivate only the redirect temporary.

Right now, going to ~/.mozilla/firefox/[profile-ID]/extensions/, this extension is identified by an opaque hex-string

For some reason Nitter Redirect stop working (not redirecting at all) if you don't clean Cookies and Site Data of twitter.com

It seems to start happening when you log in to twitter.

This issue is also reproducible in Invidition

Bibliogram does a similar thing as Nitter, but for Instagram.
Invidious does a similar thing as Nitter, but for YouTube.
There's an Android app called UntrackMe that supports all three.

How do you feel about supporting these services with this extension?
If you would approve of supporting these services, would you want to code it yourself, or would you accept PRs for it?

It seems like the latest version of Firefox for Android has dropped support for desktop extensions (which is stupid, of course). It would be great if nitter-redirect could work on the phone again. I don't know what this request entails, but I might give it a shot when I get some time.

Non-gif videos redirect to a <instance>/gif/ URL, resulting in a "Page not found" error.

At the moment, a link to x.com is passed to x.com, which issues a redirect to twitter.com (injecting a tracking parameter by the by) and then that second link is intercepted by this package and translated to nitter.net.

This means that the process leaves a trace on the X/Twitter servers, which is suboptimal for privacy purposes; it would be better if this app intercepted requests to x.com in the same way it intercepts those to twitter.com,

I wanted to suggest a feature where a twitter link can be right clicked for an option to open in Nitter. That way one doesnt have to toggle the add-on off/on if one is going to twitter frequently, but still needs Nitter versions of links.

could you please consider to redirect a nitter mirror to actually set mirror?

If I have saved a bookmark par ex with nitter.net and I open it again, sometimes(often) the message "use another instance... Instance has been rate limited" pops up. Here it would be awesome if it redirects automaticlly to the set Instance in your extension.

since nitter.net is down, would be nice to add option to change the redirect using alternative instances
instead of manually editing the extension file -- which gets overwritten when updated.

nitter.net ist quite often overloaded and then not reachable. It would be good to add an alternative nitter instance as redirect in preferences.

Unfortunately the ClearURLs addon can't function on nitter URLs.

• An option within the NR extension button to redirect all currently open Twitter tabs to Nitter
• "View on Nitter" right click context menu option (probably not very viable)
• In-site button on Twitter to view current or selected content on Nitter
