Step 6 encourages "the three copies of the private key into two pieces". To my reading, this is insecure. Its unclear what "is shown by offline". Shamir's secret sharing algorithm should be used if splitting keys.

Probably don't want to leave your heirs without a way to get at that pile of bitcoin once you're gone.

I am quite non-technical when it comes to coding, and I know that this guide was written with that in mind. However, I am still a little confused on "Step 2: Putting bitcoin on the small USB key (10 minutes) Format the small USB key and put the helper script which matches this HOWTO:...You also need bitcoin and friends on the USB key". Does this mean that I copy the code from the "offline" sheet and paste it to the USB? Please explain a little bit further. Much appreciated.

A BIOS/UEFI Bootkit may infect the kernel, then some syscalls could be hijacked. Finally, it could insert a backdoored random number generator to the offline script, which would make all private keys generated predictable to the attacker.
