awesome-podcasts's Issues

[Enhancement] Related Sass/hosted chat org

idea, little effort part

Would be great to have slack / discord / telegram / x group for this. People could suggest and discuss these awesome podcasts.

optional rule suggestions

/ opinionated setup (less than 30mins)

  • #general
    • For discussing podcasts mostly related to the topics listed in the readme
    • Silent for everyone (i believe discord allows this by default)
    • No links allowed
    • Max chars, maybe?
    • If it grows fast, possibly use separate channels for each topic...

very much optional useful oss integration idea

ongoing project OR a well selected, existing bot setup

  • #podcasts
    • Have the default channel when joining as a "podcast submission channel"
    • Paste a link to a podcast, people can up/down vote links with reactions (bot will add one up and one down on every link)
    • Long cooldown (time you must wait before you may send another)
    • Maybe start at an hour or two and increase as it gets busy + spammers arrive
    • Top podcasts that week get an automatic PR on GitHub from the bot
    • Admins could fix the categories or other meta data for the PR
    • For very popular sites, a lib/sites could contain unfurls. Open embed etc. for the rest.
    • With that setup, spam should be low and the best will get through
    • Another option would be to just submit to the bot... also any PRs opened maybe...
    • Pasting links in #general works within your global throttle.
    • Any re-posts / dupes could either be counted at the end of each week, votes summed. (or instead just suggest in the bot chat a link to the previous message to upvote)
    • edit: since realised that https://podhunt.app/ which "kind of" covers this part

Add From The Source Podcast

I tried to add a PR but it doesn't look like I have permission? I cloned, made a branch, made the changes, then was unable to push the branch. Can I be added as contributor or have this added under career?

`* From The Source (Spotify | iTunes | Stitcher)

  • Description: From the Source is an interview show that answers the question of what tech jobs are really like, both the good and the boring.
  • Frequency: Biweekly
  • Runtime: 20-40 minutes
    `

Add Kernel Panic podcast

https://www.kernelpanicpodcast.com/

Here is the url.
The guys who make the podcast are linux veterans, one of them made a lot of linux tutorials.
Thy are talking about news, problems and have some guests which tell their stories and stuff.
They are not very regular and episodes are ~1 hour long

[Suggestion] Chance the Developer

https://chancethedev.com/

hi! I’m Chance, a junior web developer and extra junior podcaster. I truly don’t know what I’m doing here, but my hope is to share what I’ve learned about this exciting and amazingly fun career of mine, and in the process I hope to learn a ton from you and the folks I encounter along the journey.

Add approximate runtimes

A runtime would be good to have against each podcast. If they vary a lot between each episode an approximate range could be given?

No inline HTML

Instead of using the HTML bold tag <b> I would recommend switching to using double asterisks **
This will promote using pure markdown syntax within the markdown file.

I don't mind making a pull request, but I would like your opinion before moving forward. Thank you!

Markdown cheat sheet

I stumbled on to this suggestion because of the markdown-lint extension in vscode, a more detailed description can be found here: https://github.com/updownpress/markdown-lint/blob/master/rules/033-no-inline-html.md

Separate by the language

Hey guys!
What do you think about separation podcasts by the language? I noticed you have Russian podcasts there, I could add them a lot, but it could be useless for people who didn't know the Russian language. I'm sure there are other language podcasts as well.
Thanks.

[Suggestion] Listing Repo in Awesome Lists

I just raised an issue in the awesome repo asking to add this repo to their list. You could check it here
The owner suggested a couple of things to be checked like adding a few tags etc.
Would you like this repo to be featured there?

Under the Radar is now biweekly

I was going to make a pull request but formatting for biweekly shows isn’t clear. I’m on mobile but I’m pretty sure I saw both “once every 2 weeks” and “2 times a month” or similar. Which is preferred?

Golang Script to Validate Podcasts

Script should do the following

  • Validate the links of the podcasts (whether they are broken)
  • Validate the order of the podcasts in each category (and also categories)

Break the build when either of the above validations fail

Logo Proposal

Hello sir, I'm a graphic designer and I would love to contribute to your project with a logo. This is completely free, take it as a contribution. In case you agree I would be presenting sketches and you will be choosing/modifying the aspects you like more so we could work on the perfect logo for your project together.

Let me know what do you think? best regards :)

Greater than Code and perhaps a new category?

This is a engineer-related podcast, but the focus is around humans working together. I don't really think it fits under Agile, and might be a good fit if you had a category like "Community."

Anyway, I felt it would be weird to submit a totally new category without seeking feedback first.

Also, here's a link to the podcast in case you're interested:
