quran.com-frontend's Issues

Surah No. 110 , Verse No. 01,

Surah No. 110 , Verse No. 01,
There is missing the word "Help" in sahih international.
"When the Help of Allah has come and the Victory"
will be better instead of "When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest"

Dutch translation Surah a Nur, Ayah 4

There's a little mistake in the translation in dutch of Surah a Nur.
In Aya 4 in dutch it says "vier en tachtig zweepslagen worden gestraft." which means 84 lashes, but the Aya says 80 lashes.

Could you please let get somebody to change that into: "tachtig zweepslagen" en remove the "vier en"

Audio skipping bug

Audio skipping bug (due to memory). When the user changes the played ayah in the middle the ayah is skipped to the point it was at before. Example: the user starts playing Surah Fatihah, in the middle of the second ayah the user clicks ayah one. Then when the audio starts ayah two it goes directly to the middle of the ayah, and continues playing.

Bangla translation 5:92

I have seen in the bangla translation in Sura maidah (5) verse 92 is 'তোমরা আল্লাহর অনুগত হও, রসূলের অনুগত হও এবং আত্মরক্ষা কর। কিন্তু যদি তোমরা বিমুখ হও, তবে জেনে রাখ, আমার রসূলের দায়িত্ব প্রকাশ্য প্রচার বৈধ নয়।' which is totally opposite meaning, it should be "বৈ নয়" instead of "বৈধ নয়" please correct it. Such type of mistake is totally misguide the people.

Provide word details from corpus.quran.com

I really like how the word definition is shown on mouseover (or tap).

What I was wondering was if a corpus.quran.com like detailed popup come with the details of the word, even if it requires one or two extra clicks? Even my friends think that would be really really cool.

Preferrably rename these Surahs:

rename Surahs referring to prophets (explicitly) to The Prophet _______

rename Surah 5 to Al-Maidah

rename Surah 14 to Abraham, "im" to "am"; more common

rename Surah 20 to The Letters "Ta" and "Ha"

rename Surah 22 to Al-Hajj, extra j more common

rename Surah 25 to The Criterion, "a" changes to an "o"

rename Surah 36 to The Letters "Ya" and "Sin"

rename Surah 52 to The Mountain, as mounts can refer to horses

rename Surah 58 to Al-Mujadilah, add h to mean converted t in Arabic

rename Surah 60 to The Woman to Be Examined

rename Surah 66 to The Prohibition, had extra i

rename Surah 86 to The Nightcomer, extra m

rename Surah 88 to The Overwhelming Event

rename Surah 101 to The Striking Calamity

rename Surah 102 to The Rivalry in Worldly Increase

rename Surah 104 to The Slanderer

rename Surah 106 to The Tribe of Quraysh

maybe rename Surah 21 to Al-Ambya, if you wish to write as pronounced

maybe rename Surah 28 to The Narrations, stories can mean fairy tales

maybe rename Surah 85 to The Big Stars

Russian translation 39:28

I found a incorrect spelling in verse 39:28 of Russian translation. It reads :

Мы ниспослали Коран, в котором нем кривды, на арабском языке, чтобы они устрашились.

It has to read:

Мы ниспослали Коран, в котором нет кривды, на арабском языке, чтобы они устрашились.

Russian word 'нет' means negative in this context it means Quran is without any deviance. And right now your translation reads 'в котором нем кривды' which is incorrect.

[Suggestion] Better UX with "sura info"

When clicking the "info" button. Open the info box, in an overlay that can be easily closed again. Problem in the user interface occours when having scrolled down in a surah, clicking the button, then suddenly the entire page just goes 2≈ aya (according to what resolution you got), and I have to scroll "all the way" up to read it.
Would be better if it just appeared, and could easily be hidden when needed

Ayah 20:8 Muhsin Khan

It says "La ilahla" in the English translation:

Ayah 20:8
Muhsin Khan
Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names.

Firefox bugs

what to call them but things like the JEEM that acts as a pause.

Also the Arabic script just scrolls out of view instead of piling up as multiple lines in the same window.

The strange thing is that it just started to happen out of the blue towards the end of last week (same laptop and browser).

Indeed on another laptop I have the alpha Quran site does not load or scroll down either so I don’t know if it is dependent on different operating systems….?

copy and paste the content

There must be a way to listen for highlight or clipboard and provide the actual arabic text for the copied. I have to look into it but i have an idea of how. We just need to get off our clipboard!
