A reporting module that provides an extra level of configuration and functionality over the base silverstripe structures. Generates static output content in HTML, CSV and PDF formats
I'm interested in your thoughts on using this module to provide the ability to create custom reports where you can pick the fields you want to view, filter on, group by etc. based on not only the primary DataObject, but also based on relations attached to that DataObject. I see some of that functionality is available in the FreeformReport, but it seems (at least at a quick glance) to be difficult for CMS users who aren't developers to interact with (for example, you need to specify IDs directly, instead of being able to pick from a list that maps ID => Title).
Is there anything like that on the roadmap for this module? We might be looking at a project that does that, so keen to get your thoughts on how you'd look to implement it if you have time, and whether it would be something that is worth merging into the core module?
Would it be possible to utilize a PHP library that can generate PDF without Java? I am currently running silverstripe on a good PHP provider. But very few affordable providers run Java on their host platform.
Thanks in advance for your reply and consideration. Advanced reports is a great module.
I didn't understand the code mentioned in the previous post #1
and it was 2 years ago, i have a fair few links on a table i need to report on is it possible for you to put up an example of how to get data from a has_many relationship please.
As a user I would expect that on generate I'll be redirected/displayed the list of the reports - including the new generated one. Instead I'm staying at the form without any message - which gives me the feeling it didn't work.
