silverstripe-advancedreports's Issues

Silverstripe 3?

Hi. I really like your module. And have incorporated it into several sites.

I noticed when upgrading to Silverstripe 3 much of the module does not work.

Here are a few of the problems I've found so far.

  • Reference to ModelAdmin_RecordController which is not present in ss3.
  • FieldSet is not deprecated to FieldList.
  • Also, the submit button does not appear to be showing. I have not fixed this one yet.

Do you have any plans on releasing a fixed ss3 compliant version of the module?

Thanks for the time you put into this. It really helped a few sites I built.

Steve

PDF Rendition on Advanced Report - No JAVA

Would it be possible to utilize a PHP library that can generate PDF without Java? I am currently running silverstripe on a good PHP provider. But very few affordable providers run Java on their host platform.

Thanks in advance for your reply and consideration. Advanced reports is a great module.

Unexpected behaviour on generate

As a user I would expect that on generate I'll be redirected/displayed the list of the reports - including the new generated one. Instead I'm staying at the form without any message - which gives me the feeling it didn't work.

All on 3.1.6

Extend module ability to arbitrarily pull in content from other relation types (has_many, many_many, has-one)

Hey @nyeholt,

I'm interested in your thoughts on using this module to provide the ability to create custom reports where you can pick the fields you want to view, filter on, group by etc. based on not only the primary DataObject, but also based on relations attached to that DataObject. I see some of that functionality is available in the FreeformReport, but it seems (at least at a quick glance) to be difficult for CMS users who aren't developers to interact with (for example, you need to specify IDs directly, instead of being able to pick from a list that maps ID => Title).

Is there anything like that on the roadmap for this module? We might be looking at a project that does that, so keen to get your thoughts on how you'd look to implement it if you have time, and whether it would be something that is worth merging into the core module?

Cheers,
Matt.

Unexpected behaviour on preview

Before I can preview changes I need to click save. This isn't very intuitive and kind of contradicts the purpose of the preview
