Hi,

it would be interesting if you see any chance to change the size of the AV resolution.

Our problem is the following, we are using GoPro's for Quadcopter FPV flying, as long as we use
a resolution which is 4:3 everything is fine, this is resized and the AV output is fine.

If we use 1080p which would be the best resolution for recording, the GoPro resize this to fit 4:3 and add a black bar at the top and bottom (AV-out). Do you see any chance to change this behavior, maybe to set a fixed resolution for AV out ?

I tried on my hero3+ black, it doesn't work!

My issue is that the script didn't work in my cam.

I really believe my cam doesn't process the line 2
t ia2 -ae still_exp 100 5 15 ,
because it takes effectively a shot each 10 secs as set, but the iso and the exp remain auto (the cam sets the values according to its own algorithm).

Hi I am trying to use the photo exposure lock on a GoPro Hero3+ Black. How does the camera set the exposure? Does it use the light conditions on start up or does it base it on the first photo taken? Thanks

A question to the hackers:
How hard would it be to modify the behaviour of the rec button to "record while pressed"?

What for should it be done:
With the Cam on a helmet, one is never shure if it's rolling or not.
So, having a switch vs. a button would be more intuitive, you could feel "left = rec. right = pause".

A mechanical extension to the gopro case would be fairly easy to do, maybe 3d-printable.
A knob that can be slid over the rec. button, which would permanently press the button.

But the difficult question is, can the firmware be modified, so that a permanent press (starting at longer than X seconds) would start record, until button releases.

I even reached out to GoPro with that idea, but they showed no interest...

So, maybe hackers here could help out with some infos about how hard it would be to do?

No matter what, the exposure time stays at 1/2 second.

Probably u heared about new GoPro HERO+ LCD. One of the feature is 1080 60 fps. In my opinion this stil the same camera like HERO. What u think they can make update for HERO with 1080 60 fps or if no is any chance to copy from HERO+ that option and put in HERO?

How do I do Ambarella development? Where do I get an SDK from? Its not easy to get ahold of the company. I'm sure somebody here has DOCS they can share please.

I've Hero3+ Black upgraded to 3.0 firmware version. Did LockVideoExposure hack work on that firmware? autoexec.ash file is at root folder and lens covered to dark for 7 secs after rec button pushed.

GoPro 3 White, newest firmware

If any autoexech.ack is used, the webserver won't start. The problem is, that now telnet or any hacks based on the webserver won't work anymore.

Found when was trying to download files by re-binding via:
lu_util exec 'mount --bind /etc/ /var/www/DCIM/'

I've got a problem with my Hero2, I'm trying to use this loop video script :

But it doesn't work, I used the 198 & 222 firmeware but my camera freezes and the only way to get it to work is to update to the latest firmeware.

I verified the extention of the autoexec file and it's .ash not .ash.txt but still don't work.

This is the content of the file :

Like i write in title timelapse everytime stop at 51 shots (using 5 sec timelapse file for HERO 2014 1.07 firmware). I tryed put some lover numers than 4 but still the same. Someone else have this problem?

First of all thanks for your effort in making all those gopro hacks- I found them very useful. I'm a bit concerned however about the exposure time- I used the table and updated the ash file as described, however it still seem that gopro uses different (shorter) exposure time. File EXIF shows e.g exp as 7,7 seconds, but if you look at the picture it's definietly shorter. I used Syma X5C-1 quadcopter to do some awesome effects (thay are still awesome thanks to your hack!) but I am pretty sure I'd fly much more within 7,7 secs- this looks more like 3 seconds maximum.

Did anyone reported this already? Tried to search for something but I'm new on GitHub and didn't have enough luck yet to resolve it. I tried with a bit lower exposure time (still around 6-7 secs) and it's the same. I have GP H3+ Black.

The scripts for the GoPro 4 (https://github.com/KonradIT/autoexechack/tree/GoPro/HERO4) are not working on my GoPro 4 Silver. I've also tried different SD cards.

Current resolution on the streaming preview for GoPro Hero 4 Black is something like 240p and only lasts for 12s without the use of a Python script in the background. Ideally there would be a way to stream this video at least 720p and not have to use a Python script. Seems like there must be a hidden setting to do this. Thoughts?

He estado probando el autoexec del longexp.. en la hero 3+silver , y hay algo que no acaba de funcionar.
La enciedo,pasa al modo foto, hace una foto normal, (poniendo la x a 2), sleep y reinicio.

Alguna idea?

I have a Hero 3+ Black, and currently as I go down in resolution with the video ... the FPS choices get more limited. 720p only lets me choose 60 or 120 fps, what I'm looking for is to encode the smallest video possible ... so ideally 720 or WVGA at 30 or 24 fps. Is this something that is possible through a firmware hack? or is it something that is non negotiable

All works fine, for example The iso but The value with the exposure doesn't work...the photo is taken always with 1sec exposure
