Keep using this plugin and love it more and more :)
Was thinking.. perhaps you should add it to Wordpress.org OR include the github updater so we can benefit from updates you do to it?
Probably gonna end up making lots of requests and suggestions as time goes by with this project I'm working on.. But what strikes me almost immediately is the naming of "Disable overrides".
It sounds overly harsh and scary for what it does. Generella what it does is just allow ACF to get stored and loaded from the active theme as per it's default functionality. I think it could be much clearer (and less scary). Perhaps something like picking up the theme name with an appended (default behavior): Twentysixteen (default behavior)
for example.
I just noticed that I accidentally saved a field group when not having selected the plugin from which it should be loaded. That caused a json file to be created in the themes acf-json which then always override the plugins json file when loading the fields..
It's a tricky subject because the error is in the usage but perhaps there's something one could do to try to "allow" for these errors to slip by unnoticed. ACF seem to just ignore the later loaded json file (from the plugin) if it's already loaded the themes json file even tho the timestamp is later in the plugins json.
