_NPCScan.Overlay: Always-on 100 yard ring

Name of add-on:
_NPCScan.Overlay

Description of change/new feature:
Add an option to always show the 100 yard ring (or create a new addon for this
functionality) as it is helpful when leveling with someone while the accounts
are linked through Recruit-A-Friend (both toons need to be within 100 yards of
each other to receive triple XP).

_NPCScan: Won't clear cache/reset

What version of the add-on are you using?
v 4.0.1.2

What version of World of Warcraft are you using? (Please include language)
WoW U.S. (English) Cataclysm patch 4.1 running

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Supposed to have cleared my cache and reset NPCscan when cache folder is
deleted but deleting my cache has not reset addon no matter what I do. Have
been using NPCScan for years and have had no problem till recently...

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.DL patch 4.1
2.Kill rare's
3.Attempt to reset npc scan by deleting cache.

Dont know if this will reproduce the problem seeing as no one else seems to be
having this problem but me..

Please provide any additional information below.
I don't know what happened. NpcScan seems to be working fine for everyone else.
Like I stated above I have deleted my Creature cache within the cache folder as
well as deleting the entire folder itself and also went so far as to delete my
interface and WTF folders at the same time. Have tried all of this several
times over, have restarted the wow client as well and no matter what I do NPC
scan will not reset and all the creatures i have killed in the last month or so
remain untrackable and marked as killed by the addon. Plz help fix! Getting
extremely pised off and overly frusterated.......

_Cursor: Missing Cursor as of 3.1.0.2

What version of the add-on are you using?
3.1.0.2

What version of World of Warcraft are you using? (Please include language)
30100 enUS

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No cursor trail follows the cursor, even though the options window
correctly displays a preview. It seems that no ModelEnable calls are being
made.

Attached is a custom version of 3.1.0.2 designed to print all ModelEnable
calls and Show/Hide conditions.

_NPCScan: Can't see paths of Cataclysm rares

What version of the add-on are you using?
_NPCScan-4.0.3.5.zip

What version of World of Warcraft are you using? (Please include language)
Cataclysm US servers (english)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
For Northrend rares I'd see a coloured path on the world and mini-map
showing me where the mob's patrol area was. There was also a small table with
the name of the mob and the colour of its path so I knew exactly where to look
to find a rare.
In Twilight Highlands, Abysmal Depths, all the new areas I can't see any patrol
paths or names on the world map to indicate there is a rare and where I might
find it. The alert has gone off for a rare in Hyjal and in Uldum but even
after deleting my cache folder I don't see any paths or list of rare spawns.

Is this the way its supposed to work? I really miss the paths as I have to tab
out to check where on a map I'm supposed to look.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to a new area and look on the world map.
2. Open the world map and zoom out and pick any continent with a new zone and
zoom in on it to see no paths.
3. After #2, zoom back out and select a zone in Northrend to see patrol paths
of old rares.

Please provide any additional information below.
I've googled and found some information regarding how the scan would look
through achievements and why its different in Cataclysm but nothing to say if
the new rares won't show up on the world/mini-maps. Could you please send a
quick note to let me know? I'll keep looking for information online.

over lay are both up to date from curse

What version of World of Warcraft are you using? (Please include language)

in Flight over borean tundra. I get a whole list of creatures cached.

_NPCScan.Overlay: Lag when worldmap is open

What version of the add-on are you using?
_NPCScan.Overlay 4.0.0.4

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

_NPCScan: Terror Spinner not marked as tamable

What version of the add-on are you using?
The latest from Curse

What version of World of Warcraft are you using? (Please include language)
3.2.0, English patched from FRfr via the ELP

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the sound and mob icon when one is close. Instead I get
1- nothing most of the time. I have the mob in range, even targeted, and
the addon does nothing. After killing the mob, a red cross appears in
"cached" in the NPC log, though.
2- once, a weird alert. I was fishing in the sewer, the addon detect a
rare spider, Terror Spinner that dwells in Zul'Drak.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Locate a rare that NPCscan is supposed to DING. It doesn't.
2. The second problem: don't know
3.

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm using a WoW folder from XP, that I copied to Win 7, so the cache
folder is not in the expected Win 7 location (users...), but in the XP one
(/wow/cache...)
The test alert works fine, it's the mob detection that doesn't seem to
happen, or only partially (mob present and detected in the cache, but no
alert).

Thanks for a wonderful addon... looking forward to having it work for
me :-)

_NPCScan: Faction-aligned rares

Name of add-on: _NPCScan

Description of change/new feature:
Disable the alert for NPCs that can't be attacked by your current faction.

There are currently only two instances of this according to a Wowhead search
for rares friendly to 1 faction, Captain Foulwind (aligned with Orgrimmar) and
Captain Florence (aligned with Stormwind).
While this isn't too big of a problem it is kind of annoying when the warning
goes off and when you find the mob you can't attack it.

_NPCScan: Scan cache for objects

Name of add-on: _NPCScan

Description of change/new feature: Couldn't the same cache searching
functionality be used more generically to find anything in the cache?

For example, I know the gameobjectcache.wdb contains those annoying books
to find in Dalaran when they appear (Schools of Arcane Magic)...

_NPCScan.Overlay: Unfinished String in PathData.lua

What version of the add-on are you using?
3.3.5.1

What version of World of Warcraft are you using? (Please include language)
English 3.3.5 latest patch as of 7/8/10

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When loading, I get a LUA error referencing the path files, see below. I
deleted the addon entirely; rebooted; ran WOW; shut down and reloaded new
download of NPC and NPCscan. Still am getting an error on loading. NPCscan
works great. This issue started just after Ruby Sanctum patch loaded (1st Patch
on 6/22/10.)
I have worked the issue by deleting addon and backups; caches and even running
the WOW repair tool. I thought maybe another addon was interfering with the
completion of the file build so I suspended all other addons and reloaded; same
result.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Loading WOW
2. NPCscan still works fine.
3.

_NPCScan.Overlay: Cyrus der schwarze (Cyrus the Black) isn´t displayed on the map

What version of the add-on are you using?
4.0.3.6

What version of World of Warcraft are you using? (Please include language)
4.0.6 - deDE (German)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I found in Uldum a rare named "Cyrus der schwarze" (possible translated into
"Cyrus the black"). NPC-Scan gave me an alert, when I came into Cyrus range but
looking onto the map, NPC-Scan only shows me Akma´hat and Armagürtlon as
Rare-Mobs in Uldum.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. look onto your map.
2.
3.

Please provide any additional information below.

I found Cyrus on 57/81 "Die Schuppengrube"

_NPCScan: Disabled achievements' checkboxes not prominent enough

What version of the add-on are you using?
Latest - 3.1.0.1 5/13

What version of World of Warcraft are you using? (Please include language)
WotLK, English, fully patched

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Creatures are marked as found while in game but I do not receive the alert

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Clear cache and confirm in game that viewing NPC Scan is running and has
no mobs listed as found.
2. Flew around and found a rare spawn by sight (Old Crystalbark during test)
3. Alert did not activate, NPCScan addon has red check mark next to name.

Please provide any additional information below.
Noticed this issue a while ago as my girlfriend and I are working on
Frostbitten together and my alert stopped working; we sit next to each
other and hers would alarm and mine would not, even with the NPC in sight.

I am positive that I am clearing my cache correctly, mod is enabled (I've
taken to flying around with my NPCScan window open on the Frostbitten tab
to see if I fly by a rare!), and I've reinstalled the addon completely a
number of times.

I have a feeling that another addon is interfering with it, but I can't
prove it as rares are rare and don't provide much time for addon toggling
trial and error. :P Have you heard of any addons conflicting with NPCScan?

Thank you very much for your work on a great addon; while it was functional
for me I recommended it to everyone!

_NPCScan: Synching of observations. Estimate time of respawning.

Name of add-on:
NPCScan

Description of change/new feature:
Much along the same lines of WinterTime (an addon that does some synching with
several sources to always let you know when the next WinterGrasp is) I would
love to see some form of synch between users.

Scenario; I've just killed gondria. This would get recorded by me as a
kill-time. This would then be offered as a data to other people with the addon.
This info plus an estimate of which timeframe it will respawn, could then be
offered as broadcast or as a poll+broadcast.

Scenario: I've just discovered the body of King Pin. This would get recorded by
my addon and queried/broadcasted to let everyone else know its been recently
killed.

Scenario: I enter Stormpeaks, looking for Time-lost Proto. My addon would look
at its known "last seen/last seen dead/last killed". If the date is recent
enough and a respawn is unlikely - nothing happends. If the date is stale, the
addon queries "Have anyone seen, or killed Time-lost Proto after [date/time]?"
- Other people with this addon would pick up on that and check their
dates/times - and if more recent perhaps wait a random number of seconds (to
avoid spamming the comm-channel) and then offer an updated timefield as a
broadcast.

If there is yet even MORE recent observations done, it will be checked against
in the same way and re-broadcasted.

Everyone waiting to offer their time, could check this info as it appears and
update their date and cancel/proceed with their broadcast.
In effect updating everyone with the most recent time.

That is the essence of my suggestion.
It would greatly increase the odds of finding rares.

_NPCScan: Bring WoW to foreground when rare mob is found

Name of add-on:

_NPCSCAN

Description of change/new feature:

I use LFGMaximiser to allow me to queue for a dungeon, then tab out and get
on with some work. When the accept dungeon invite appears, WoW is maximised
over the top of everything else.

Would it be possible to do a similar thing with _NPCSCAN? ideally, I'd like
to be able to park up in storm peaks, turn on NPCSCAN and look for the time
lost protodrake, and then tab out and do something (anything!) else, rather
than sit there for your on end waiting and waiting ... If the TLPD
appeared, then the window focus could be set to WoW, and I'd see straight
away...

A main reason for this is that I have to play with the sound off ...

_Dev: Scrollwheel creates auxiliary focus in _Dev.Frames

Name of add-on: _Dev

Description of change/new feature:
Scrollwheel creates auxiliary focus for frames below the current in
_Dev.Frames.

* Dim real focus while the auxiliary focus is present.
* When real focus changes, remove auxiliary focus.
* Store reference to auxiliary frame rather than a depth and find the next
lowest frame by EnumerateFrames on mousewheel.

_NPCScan.Overlay: Path direction arrows

Name of add-on:
NPCScan.Overlay

Description of change/new feature:
Arrows showing travel-path for mobs with directional and linear paths -
example, time-lost protodrake flys in about 3 figure-8's, arrows showing the
path flown would make it easier to decide which direction to fly to look for
this mob

_NPCScan.Overlay: French translation file: bad encoding

What version of the add-on are you using?
4.1.0.3

What version of World of Warcraft are you using? (Please include language)
4.1.0 (frFR)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The french localization file is ANSI-encoded, thus some characters are not
rendered correctly in-game. If you can made it UTF8-encoded it would be great :)

_NPCScan: Option/Capability to have NPCSCAN

Name of add-on:
_NPCSCAN

Description of change/new feature:
The way I understand it is _NPCSCAN sync's my local cache with the servers,
then if "I" see a mob, it add's it to my cache even if the server's cache
doesn't show it's been found, right?

This makes me wonder why you didnt build NPCSCAN to cross reference the server
cache before caching locally on my machine with a realtime check. Or at least
have an option to check/synch before it add's it to my cache.

Thanks for this awesome mod!

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I found a rare and it doesn't alert. It seems that it doesnt search for
completed achivement NPC while option is clicked.

_NPCScan: Chat logging

Name of add-on:
NpcScan
Hi, first of all I just want to thank you for making this nice addon :)
It's helped me kill alot of rare elites..

Description of change/new feature:

When Im looking for the timelost protodrake im usually afk... And to prevent
getting dc'ed I have a little java robot pressing some buttons at a random
moment...

I tried this yesterday and while I was sleeping I had found the drake...
The thing is I use Elephant to log the chatlog but there was no entry of when i
saw the drake...

It would be fantastic if we could make npcscan /w self(so that other logging
addons would pick it up) or maybe write a log to disk with: timestamp; coords;
unitid

GuildBankSearch: Filter usable items

Name of add-on: GuildBankSearch

Description of change/new feature:
This add-on is nearly perfect, but it lacks a last feature : to be able to
filter usable items only (like in ah).
It looks like the function "IsUsableItem(item)" exists (listed in
http://www.wowwiki.com/World_of_Warcraft_API, but the related page doesn't
exist) so it may be very simple to implement.

Thanks !
