I think the problem is with node-gettext, unfortunately. The dependency specified for iconv in node-gettext's package.json is too old. There is a pull request for it but it has been closed by the author without it being merged:
alexanderwallin/node-gettext#11

node-gettext has upgraded to a newer iconv version. So, now, it just means waiting for the next node-gettext version!
