can't connect via arduino/usb c

Hi,

I was trying to do a smaller example just turning on the heater and trying to display the current temperature.....
pcbheating_learning.zip

Now i can't get the board to connect to the arduino at all (like the com port is broken somehow). Tried to reinstall the drivers, manually tell windows where to look for them etc. I'm out of ideas at the present.

Is there some way to connect or reset the board?

Alternating blank lines on LCD Display

Thanks for this amazing little thing! I already did some runs and I'm more than happy with the results.

However, I have some problems with my OLED display. It appears like every second line is missing/blank. This makes it hard to read the numbers and I often had to go back to zero and count upwards (pictures attached) to set temps and times.

From what I found by searching for this problem online was that it might be a software/driver problem. What do you think?

Bug with reseting cycle counter

Hi,

thanks for the excellent PocketPCR which we apply both in the lab and for teaching. We stumbled upon a bug which we here would like to report:

Expected behavior:
After a cycling program has been finished, a new program can be started with "Run PCR"

Actual behavior:
The program starts, but it does not cycle.

Workaround:
Unplug the PocketPCR from the power, plug in again and now running a program and cycling works as expected.

any todo or improvement list ?

I can handle both firmware and hardware design if required

Missing dimensions for heat block and PCB thickness

Hi there,

I would love to build one of these, but I need the dimensions of the aluminum heat block and the thickness of the bottom heater board.

Can you please share that information?

We are reaching out because we would love to have your project listed on Open Neuroscience, and also share information about this project:

Open Neuroscience is a community run project, where we are curating and highlighting open source projects related to neurosciences!

Briefly, we have a website where short descritptions about projects are listed, with links to the projects themselves, their authors, together with images and other links.

Once a new entry is made, we make a quick check for spam, and publish it.

Once published, we make people aware of the new entry by Twitter and a Facebook group.

To add information about their project, developers only need to fill out this form

In the form, people can add subfields and tags to their entries, so that projects are filterable and searchable on the website!

The reason why we have the form system is that it makes it open for everyone to contribute to the website and allows developers themselves to describe their projects!

Also, there are so many amazing projects coming out in Neurosciences that it would be impossible for us to keep track and log them all!

Could you do DNA sequencing with this device alone?

Sorry this is more of a question but I've scoured throughout google and found and unfortunately found nothing.
Or with PCR's in general I'll find mixed answers saying that a PCR can be used to sequence DNA by itself or the opposite.

Anyways so now I'm asking here before I buy one: "Could you do DNA sequencing with this device alone or if there's any other devices I would also need to do DNA sequencing, or if they're totally unrelated."
Preferably in the cheapest way possible.

I'd change counter=1 to counter=0, but I'm not sure if that would actually work.

I get the feeling that it will still cycle because the cycle counter is only read after the elongation step:
