Is there a possibility to get setup Instructions or a quick docker image to run? I want to get this running on my local server.
Leftover styles used for original testing (e.g., yellow message layout, unstyled contact filter) should be updated with proper styles.
Prod build throwing errors due to using "String" instead of literal "string"
Right now, SMS Backup Reader 2 uses plain JS objects, arrays, and maps for storing SMS and MMS messages. This can cause issues with performance and scaling to larger backups. This issue is for switching to using IndexedDB.
Will likely follow https://developers.google.com/web/ilt/pwa/working-with-indexeddb and use the IDB library, since promises make more sense for this use case.
The xml file has the filed contact_name. Is there a reason or known issue for that to not show up in SMS Backup Reader? It's pretty tough identifying the conversations via the phone numbers.
I was trying to open my xml file by uploading but it doesnt seem to do anything. it is 3.5GB, is there a size limit?

I may be missing this someplace, but when I open a backup file that contains audio snippets in it they aren't available. Is there any plans on adding this or could I help to add this?
package.json says MIT but this isn't clear enough. Add LICENSE and update README to make it very clear.

i used the sms backup reader 2 to view my sms conversations. i can see the singel conversations. with smilies and also mms pictures. great!! now i want to downlod the conversation exactly how it is shown in the app. how can i do it?? i can not find a possibility. i am no computer nerd. can you support me, help me? regards!

when i click on your link "open the app", it opens in the browser. there is no download link for the app. did i miss something? can you explain?

i downloaded it. i never know how it works to install an app with zipp. there is no exe datei. so i extracted the zip package. but what is the next step? how to install the app on my laptop? in the read me is written "You can access the app here: http://mattj.io/sms-backup-reader-2/".. ?? i do not understand! no install-instruction. can somebody explain?

If I check a document manually, I can see that it has a lot more entries, ending at a much later date, than the reader is showing me.
It appears the document is being truncated.

Hi,
I'm glad that the new SMS Backup Reader 2 is able to read my backup as the Java app fails gloriously.
Unfortunately the new web app only shows a handful of messages.
According to SMS Backup & Restore it has 7360 messages, but the web app only shows the first 53 of them.
The XML itself is just 2,8 MB in size.

The online version works fine but when I tried using the downloaded version it just opens a page that says "Loading..." and never does anything else.
Not sure what I am doing wrong. I opened the index.html file (found inside the 'src' folder) in a browser.
How can I get this to work?
