Currently the metric is only used to format the score to a chosen unit when shown on webots.cloud.

Maybe we could change this behaviour and instead of using _performance_format() we could add a line in webots.yml where the organizer could define their own "format suffix" string that would then be used by webots.cloud.

We would then just need to support the special "time" case as it interacts with the timeout mechanism and the organizer could choose any unit they want.

To clean-up things and make this template repository more scalable, I believe the controller_Dockerfile should be moved inside the controller folder and renamed to Dockerfile. This has several advantages:

1. It will allow to have different Dockerfile for different controllers.
2. It makes it clear to which controller the Dockerfile applies.
3. It allow users to test their Dockerfile on a local Linux installation without any setup.

There are links to the default controller in the README markdown (lines 68 and 78) but there is no step given to the organizer to update them to point to the new default controller if they use a different name.

It would be nice to display country flags of participants in the leader boards.
Country flags could be based on the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes and their corresponding HTML emojis.
The robot controller folder could contain a file named country.txt with the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code.
