Introduction

Mockr is a beautiful and fun app for managing mock-ups and images associated with a project. Mockr supports commenting on selections of the mock to enable a discussion on the topic.

Try it out!

We've got a demo sandbox up at http://mockr-demo.heroku.com/ The only difference between this sandbox and a "real" instance is that we allow any Facebook account to login, as opposed to a whitelist of users.

Setup - on Heroku

Choose a mockr name -- the app will be at http://$mockrname.heroku.com/

Accounts to set up:

• Facebook (facebook.com/developers)
• Sign up for an app and set your app domain to $mockrname.heroku.comA
• You'll need your app_id and key (same) and secret key
• Amazon Web Services S3 (aws.amazon.com)
• You'll need your access_key and secret_key
• GMail account for notification emails (gmail.com)
• You'll need your username and password (and domain if it's not @gmail.com)

Setup - custom server

Same steps as above except for the commands with heroku in them. To launch a local web server, you need to set the environment variables:

Handle retina resolution

Right now it just blows these files up

Feature request: subscribe to project/mock notifications

Feature request: notification subscriptions

A user can subscribe to receive email notifications when a new mock is uploaded to the selected project.
A user can subscribe to receive email notifications when a new comment is posted to the selected project.
A user can subscribe to receive email notifications when a new version of the selected mock is uploaded.
A user can subscribe to receive email notifications when a new comment is posted to the selected mock.

No emails for nested comment replies

Recently Viewed Section

The Recently Viewed section should not be displayed if there are no recently viewed mocks.

Comment counts

Really want comment counts on these squares somehow, otherwise have to click into errrrything to see how many comments.

Designer Navigation Tweaks

• The "Show All" link should only display if there are more designers to display
• The entire module should only display if there are 1+ designers

Add a print button

When viewing a mock, a print button that will print only the mockup on the screen would be very useful.

Designer Page Tweaks

• Designer tabs should load as full URLs, e.g. http://mockr-causes.heroku.com/users/5. This will allow you to use standard web controls.
• Clicking on a designer should modify the header to "Mocks by [designer name]"

Claim flow is broken

Clicking scroll bars shouldn't start selection box

In a mockup, click a scrollbar on the image, then mouseover the image - a selection box has opened starting under the scrollbar. Bad.

Can't delete mocks

Guessing it's related to unobtrusive JavaScript
