Getting Started

There are a few different ways to install Ghost, take care to use the method which best suits your needs.

Please note - the downloadable zip files we provide on Ghost.org, the GitHub releases page, and via npm are pre-built packages designed for getting setup quickly. Cloning from the git repository requires you to install several dependencies and build the assets yourself.

Install from zip (fastest & best for bloggers)

If you just want to get a Ghost blog running in the fastest time possible, this method is for you.

For detailed instructions for various platforms visit the Ghost Installation Guide. If you get stuck, help is available on our support site.

1. Install Node.js - Ghost requires Node v0.10.x
2. Download the latest Ghost package from Ghost.org.
3. Create a new directory where you would like to run the code, and un-zip the package to that location.
4. Fire up a Terminal, the Node Command Prompt or shell and change directory to the root of the Ghost application (where config.example.js and index.js are)
5. run npm install --production to install the node dependencies. If you see error Error: ENOENT on this step, make sure you are in the project directory and try again.
6. To start ghost, run npm start
7. Visit http://localhost:2368/ in your web browser or go to http://localhost:2368/ghost to log in

Install from git

If you're a developer or someone comfortable getting up and running from a git clone, this method is for you.

If you clone the GitHub repository, you will need to build a number of assets using grunt.

Please do NOT use the master branch of Ghost in production. If you are using git to deploy to production, please use the latest release or the stable branch which contains the latest release.

Quickstart:

1. npm install -g grunt-cli
2. npm install
3. grunt init (and grunt prod if you want to run Ghost in production mode)
4. npm start

Install from npm

If you want to build Ghost into a larger node app, or are familiar with using npm packages, then this method might be for you.

npm install ghost

Upgrading to The Latest Version

Logging in For The First Time

Once you have the Ghost server up and running, you should be able to navigate to http://localhost:2368/ghost/ from a web browser, where you will be prompted to setup your blog and user account. Once you have entered your desired credentials you will be automatically logged in to the admin area. The setup screen will not be accessible once the process has been completed.

Versioning

For transparency and insight into our release cycle, and for striving to maintain backward compatibility, Ghost will be maintained according to the Semantic Versioning guidelines as much as possible.

Releases will be numbered with the following format:

<major>.<minor>.<patch>-<build>

Constructed with the following guidelines:

• A new major release indicates a large change where backwards compatibility is broken.
• A new minor release indicates a normal change that maintains backwards compatibility.
• A new patch release indicates a bugfix or small change which does not affect compatibility.
• A new build release indicates this is a pre-release of the version.

This is likely the wrong place for this type of response, so please forgive me for that. With that said here is my comment: I really like your approach to health and well-being, and I share many of the strategies you outline for body/mind upkeep and maintenance. The only thing that I felt was worth commenting on was the showering/bathing thing.

I agree with almost all of your logic by not showering in the traditional sense (maintaining proper skin/hair hydration and oil balance, as well as the body's bacterial microbiome) and I also try to implement such a strategy in my own life. But that being the case, here is a tip from your local trustworthy gay dude whom happens to have a high degree of knowledge in such things (haha).

It is absolutely vital to keep one's junk as clean as possible, especially if you ever want anyone going down on you (which I think you likely do). Not saying sanitize and sterilize everything and scrub the skin raw in the shower, but some degree of cleanliness is of immense importance in that area of the male body. The types of bacteria that commonly grow in that region don't produce a normal male smell, which is not entirely a bad aroma. These bacteria and other junk-residing microscopic creatures instead produce a rank, stomach-churning funk reminiscent of cat-piss. And having had some experience with males unaware of that missing part of their hygiene routine, I can say without a doubt that unless that area is thoroughly cleaned at minimum once a week then it is going to be HUGELY unpleasant for anyone that may decide to do the aforementioned deed. That is not even mentioning that cleanliness down there is even MORE important for women and you don't wanna transfer your own body's nasties when doing the deed do ya? Women get all sorts of overgrowths and infections far easier than men do, so don't be a risk to your partner simply because you refuse to at least wash one small area of your body periodically.

BTW this is not a solicitation or me hitting on you or anything, although you are a good looking guy (that is just a sincere compliment nothing more). This is just a tip from someone in the know, and me wanting to share some gay wisdom so that you don't turn the stomachs of your future partner(s) in such scenarios. Also, make sure to trim down there because hair as you likely know, tends to be a perfect petri dish for some truly stanky microscopic critters.

Take care and props to a couple excellent TED talks and for some funny stand up comedy (watched a few videos obviously LOL).

Gmail-Log minor changes

On your Gmail Log article, I found a couple of errors in the code that you provided. Here they are:

1. The code from line 6-20 is only relevant for users using the Spark email flow that you do, and it throws errors otherwise. (to fix this, I just removed this code)

2. On line 4, you could tell users to rename their sheet to match "StarredCount", otherwise no sheet.appendRow throws an error.
