Dark and light custom UI themes for Sublime Text
Home Page: https://buymeasoda.github.io/soda-theme/
I can set the Soda theme manually in Global.sublime-settings, but it doesn't appear under Preferences > Color Schemes. Mac OS X 10.6.7, ST 2134. I installed it via Package Control.
On Ubuntu i lacated folder "Theme - Soda" in ~/.config/sublime-text-2/Packages/ but on start i have an error:
Error loading colour scheme Packages/Theme - Soda/Soda Light/Widget - Soda Light.stTheme: Error parsing plist xml: Failed to open file In file "Packages/Theme - Soda/Soda Light/Widget - Soda Light.stTheme"
How can i fix this?
Looks like the UI draws the text and background colours for the input boxes used for find / replace and the quickpanel searches from the active code syntax highlighting scheme. This causes block squares of colour when the scheme background colour clashes with the input field UI colours.
Hi Ian,
Thanks for the awesome work on soda-theme. Have you considered creating a port of it for iterm2? The current selection is there is rather ugly :)
Once applied nothing changes, and then the backgrounds to tabs disappear?
I download the .RAR, extract, change the folder name to Themes - Soda, move to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sublime Text 2\Packages, and apply the theme as mentioned.
On OS X 10.6.8, ST2 build 2086. Git cloned repo into ~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 2/Packages, then enabled via Global User Settings. This results in changed theme, but any area that is image dependent is a bright red, distorted area.
I followed the instruction here but theme is not working
I see that this was an intentional change in 8c2ff37 however I think this change should be reverted. It seems like all this changes has done is make the theme a little bit less customizable.
The single buttons in the Search / Replace panel for "Preserve Case" and "Highlight Matches" is rendering with a coloured background square behind the icon. This appears even when the icon is set to render transparent, either by using an transparent PNG or setting the opacity to 0.
This artifact causes the icons, particularly "Preserve Case" to have a box visible around it.
It's as if it didn't loaded the images correctly or something... colors are also wrong.

soda-theme worked fine on win7 x64 with 2126, however on Fedora 15 it does not work. Same error message as issue #26
After installation of Sublime Text 2 build 2111, Soda Light appears... dark.
Thanks,
Pierre
It's very hard to see the selected item in Goto Anything. The contrast should be stronger.
System:
Soda Dark
Windows Ultimate 64 bit
in the latest Sublime beta there was a UI update that, by default, makes the tabs take on the color scheme colours and fade into the background...
Seems the latest Soda theme overrides that :(
Any chance that could be supported?
When I cmd-shift-p install package
, the dialog to choose which package to install does not display. The status bar does display the loading packages message.
Here's what the console says:

Now it seems that the location, at least in Windows, is Pristine Packages/ but putting the theme files in there and then referencing it isn't working.
This is my path to the soda theme currently: C:\Program Files\Sublime Text 2\Pristine Packages\Theme - Soda
When I put this in my user global settings, the theme breaks:
{
"theme": "Soda Light.sublime-theme"
}
This applies to either Dark or Light. Is there something I should be doing that I'm not? I can't find any reference to this on the message boards about theme location.
I use Soda Light for a long time, but today update to v2012.06.13(auto-update by package control), the Soda Light so disappoint, I mean the tab close button, while the file unsaved, the close button is a blue point, so dismatch to the whole theme, I have to using Soda Dark now.

I keep getting this errors:

I have Sublime Text 2 Build 2181
i just tried the themes but i get weird color effects. see http://yfrog.com/kjvvlap
You forgot this one to Soda Light and Dark

is there anyway to style foders as bold text or preferably bold text and a different icon.
excellent theme btw, I am loving it.
Like the Twilight color scheme (among others), it would be great to differentiate background colors for php developpers (or ruby?) who mixes php & javascript with HTML

After installing the Soda theme, the regular expression syntax color highlighting is no longer available in the search/replace input.
System: OS 10.7, Sublime Text Build 2088
Upon startup, the theme is applied correctly to the tabs and the lower status bar, the sidebar however is black text on black background... :)

only upon switching the theme to the default ("Default.sublime-theme")...

Btw: Thanks for the awesome work on the theme!
On the light theme when selecting an item the sidebar will show the item with a blue background and dark text
The text colour for the Find / Replace button currently is white. This seems to not be exposed via the theme rules. As soon as the correct configuration rule is added, or I figure out what the definition should be, I'll fix this to be black text.
Sublime Text 2 Build 2126 introduced a new global setting, highlight_modified_tabs
.
From the changelog:
The effect is a light orange inner glow of a modified tab.
Would love to see this implemented, or a friendly point in the right direction to lend a hand.
Hi,
I've changed the default theme to Soda Dark and when I run https://github.com/maltize/sublime-text-2-ruby-tests tests then there is no colors on output. Is it sth that you can fix or the issue is on our side?
Br,
Grzegorz
No minimap selection area seen in Soda Dark.
Hi,
Package Manager updated to the latest version of Soda, and I noticed that the file names are blurry.

I checked out the previous commit and the problem goes away, so it's an issue with the Jan 17 commit:
456b688
I'm running Sublime version 2139. Planning to update to see if that fixes things.
just download the latest Sublime 2 (build 2139) and git clone to Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 2/Packages, update global settings and restart Sublime, but the theme has no change at all.
sorry for another noob question to sublime, but I was wondering if is possible to override the gutter colors for multi columns that show line numbers on the left and the far left folder tab.
thanks and I hope you have a great weekend.
In the default theme, the tab highlight changed the tab text to be orange, which made it very easy for me to see the modified tabs.
Unfortunately, the small circle currently used over the close button is far less obvious. I would like to have both of these options please.
I figured it out finally myself, but you might want to put where the packages directory is in the docs since it's not intuitive and because it's a sys file you can't find it via spotlight:
/Users/{username}/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 2
Hi!
I want you to consider the possibility to add "highlight hovered row on sidebar"
On dark Soda is very noticeable because of the white arrows on folders. But not in files.
On light Soda is difficult to see the /highlighted/ arrow, same as dark with files.
I use both themes one by the day full of sunlight and the other by nights.
Regards,
Currently the text colour background is visible for the active highlighted row in the code completion dropdown box. Need to be able to make this transparent, like in the sidebar.
With the latest ST2 the dirty flag for tabs changed to overlay the close X. Looks nice, but the difference between dirty or not for a tab is harder to see now.
I tried setting the transparency for tab-close.png to 50% of what it is currently, and the distinction is a lot more clear. Dirty tabs are plainly visible, and the X's are faded back to not be too distracting.
I'd submit a pull request for the change, but I'm not sure if you have source psd files you're generating the png's from?
the side bar broke on build 2181 - mountain lion
I'm not aware of the rules to change the image references used for "Bookmark" and "Mark". Editing the graphics in the theme folder has no effect on the UI result. It may be that they can't be customised with the current theme capabilities.
Preferences.sublime-settings -- User
// Soda Light Theme
"theme": "Soda Light.sublime-theme",
}
Not working in latest build ( 2181 ).
It would be nice to have borders on split layouts so that horizontal splits don't look like they are the same file.
I'm using the latest beta of SLT2 (2165) and I've pulled the latest soda changes via git. When editing a file, the tab close cross doesn't change to a circle when the file has been modified and needs to be saved. It remains as a cross, and therefore, it's not possible to tell if a file has changed or not.
Thank you for the awesome theme.
Feel free to use or ignore this, but paths can be shared more specifically using existing path variables.
Copy the folder to your Sublime Text 2 Packages directory
could be
Copy the folder to your Sublime Text 2 Packages directory
%APPDATA%\Sublime Text 2\Packages
or something like that. Just a suggestion. Thanks again.
Need to adjust the quick panel style rules, or get access to different configuration options to be able to properly render the quick panel search results box items
Currently the quick panel shares the same background definition as the bottom panel (Find / Replace Panel). Because this panel has a border at the top of it's background texture, the border also renders in the quick panel. Need to be able to set or configure different background images for the quick panel.
