The Tangler casual puzzle game. Written in Kotlin, for desktop (Java JAR) and Android. The iOS module is present but was not tested.

I was born in 1971 in Kyiv, Ukraine, and live all my life here. Programming since 1983 – starting with a programmable calculator, then БК-0010 (a Soviet PDP-11 clone) in Focal, Assembler and machine codes, then ZX Spectrum in Basic and Assembler, then IBM PC, DOS and Windows line. Worked as software developer since 1990. C, Assembler, Clipper, Delphi, Visual Basic, VB.Net and C#, not counting minor sidequests such as Visual FoxPro and Python. Mostly focused on backend, with basic HTML & Javascript knowledge. Grew from self-taught Junior level (although in those times it wasn't called a Junior yet) to Senior, Project Manager and Business Analyst.

Around 2009 I've noticed that my sharpness is starting to decline, I've burned out, went to a psychotherapy, got interested and in 2011 started to change my profession. In 2018 I've completely moved from software development to psychotherapy (namely, gestalt therapy).

But there are no former software developers :) In 2021 I've returned to coding as a hobby, decided to learn Kotlin and create some small games for desktop and Android.

tangler's Issues

Occasional tile drops when scrolling

When starting the board scroll, if a finger occasionally slips to a valid move cell, the move is performed. Think over a way to delay the tile drop to let the scrolling begin.

"В один момент изображение следующего элемента из кружка между двумя круглыми стрелками под игровым полем вышло из кружка и сместилось вправо и вверх, частично попав на игровое поле. Попытался снять скриншот, но не успел, изображение элемента вернулось в круг".

Sometimes a tile just disappears, leaving its border colors in place

No additional hints on how to reproduce.

[suggestion] Maybe a tap on the element should rotate it, and rotation buttons should be removed.

The game should stop in no legal moves are possible.

Light UI theme

Add the light UI theme and light/dark switch in settings

Game screen orientation changes even when system orientation is locked

Find a proper setting in the Android app manifest to adhere to the system screen orientation.

Do not reset current game when switching to the home/settings screen

• Do not reset current game immediately when switching to the home/settings screen. Reset only on "start game" click.
• Add "resume last game" button to the home/settings screen.
• "Back" android button, after switching to settings from the game screen, should resume last game.

JAR is not launching on MacOS, complaining about unidentified developer

1. Sign the JAR with javapackager
2. Create the self-running executable for Mac using javapacker.
3. Perhaps also create executable for Windows, too.
