meslo-font's Issues

Uppercase G too large?

I haven't compared on OSX, but on Windows 7 in several apps using the default font rendering API (SQL Server Management Studio, Sublimetext, etc) the capital G for Meslo LG S seems too tall compared to the other letters.
See the screenshot.

Use the 0 from Mensch?

Hi Andre,

Meslo is awesome! Do you think it would be possible to make a variation with the number 0 from the Mensch Menlo derivative font? The only thing that bugs me about Menlo is the zero, and Mensch has a nice one with a dot in the middle: http://robey.lag.net/2010/06/21/mensch-font.html

If you don't want to/don't have the time, would you share the adapted sources and explain what applications/tools you use for editing?

Thanks,
Best,
Thomas

Remove the fi ligature

Ligature are awesome for text reading but when you are in a terminal or when you are drawing it can be cumbersome, so Meslo is a font for terminals and programmers then they don't need ligatures I beleve.

Not working in Windows 10 Console

I have tried logging out as well as rebooting and the fonts will not show up in the console (cmd.exe)

Italic fonts have two swapped pairs of glyphs

Hello,
the following positions in v1.2.1 italic fonts

U+04CB CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER KHAKASSIAN CHE
U+04CC CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER KHAKASSIAN CHE

have glyphs that should be at

U+04F6 CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER GHE WITH DESCENDER
U+04F7 CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER GHE WITH DESCENDER

and vice versa. This only affects italic versions (S, M, L, both normal and DZ). Regular, bold and bold italics are correct.
Thanks.

Rendering on Windows 7 not fixed-width?

When I use Meslo LG M in Sublime Text 2 or Eclipse Indigo on Windows 7, there are some combinations of letters that aren't rendered as fixed-width. I asked the Sublime Text 2 developers & they are using the normal Windows font rendering API.

Here's some example text that displays this behavior. The pipes don't line up.

Centerise '->'

Hi
This is a small thing but one which really urks me - the dash '-' and greater than '>' symbols are not centered vertically with respect to each other, making the arrow '->' look broken. Observe:
http://ibin.co/1dedpgVExjHG

The fat arrow looks great, could you please adjust the thin one? Whether you move the dash down or the angle up is entirely up to you.

Much obliged.

Archive Broken?

Hello, I have tried 3 times on three different occasions to download the zip archive I even cloned the repo but to no success. Is th archive broken. Please confirm.

Meslo not identified as fixed-width font?

I'm trying to use Meslo in a terminal app that requires a fixed-width font, but when I choose Meslo, it's claiming the font isn't fixed-width. I thought that was odd so I launched Font Book on the Mac and sure enough, when I choose to see "fixed width fonts" it doesn't appear in the list, but Meslo is there when I choose "all fonts."

I'm a Mac power user but not a developer, so I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm GUESSING there's a flag in the font that says "I'm a fixed-width font" and it's just not properly set in the font.

Let me know if there's any other info I can provide. Love the font and the thinking that went into it, and would love to use it in my terminal app.

best
Eric

Wrong spacing when bold (Windoze)

Several characters spacing is off when set to bold. So far I've only tested on Windows 7 but I have no evidence for or against it being a windows-only problem. In particular, m and 0 are too wide and 4 is too narrow. I've only tested a-z and 0-9 so there could also be problems with upper case or with various symbols. I hope it can be fixed because I really like this font and I've found I like it even better in bold.

Any chance for an XS?

Loving the different line gaps, but I was hoping for something about half-way between default Menlo and Meslo LG S. Textmate seems to add a little more leading to regular Menlo which is just about the amount I like. Meslo LG S is huge in comparison (Sublime Text w/ Meslo LG S on left and Textmate with Menlo on right): http://cl.ly/17400O3o0n2k083E131W

Em dash, en dash and dash.

This is in no way a bug, but it's one of the things that bothers me about using menlo, so for me it would be a great addition:

In menlo, they made the em dash, the en dash and the regular dash the full character width, which makes it impossible to tell them apart. This is particularly problematic in HTML where you've taken a block of text from somewhere and you need to format it.

It would be spectacularly awesome if you could revert these chars back to the deja-vu version where there was some visual differentiation.
