Is the iOS app region locked?

I can't open the link to the official Appstore link of the iOS app as it is just says "Connecting...". I also can't find it in my phone's appstore. Is there a region lock on it? I'm located in Hungary, Europe.

Starting Discovery on Android 13 force closes app

App force closes when I hit the discovery button since I updated to Android 13 , adding manually works as done the rest of the app

API URI is missing question mark in Query string

APP Query string is missing '?' delimiter that separates parameters and uses '&' instead.
That is really weird and does not meet w3c recommendations

App not working

When trying to use the effects they disappear when scrolling down and when they clicked on, they don’t correspond with the right option.

Multiple different led strips

Hello Aircoookie,

I have a fairly unique issue. This might be more a future update request.

Project summary
I want to combine ws2812 and sk6812 led strips on one esp32 with multiple channel branch.

Problems I have faced:
Multi channel branch uses segments to separate channels. In settings i have to select between RGB & RGBW which is attached to all LEDs.

Solution
Not sure what's your idea on official multiple channel solution, but if segments will be used to separate channels, maybe tick box for RGB or RGBW for each segment/channel?

Suggestion
For multiple channel official version maybe have channel pins hardcoded and on app create channels similar to segments?
For ex.
Channel 0 - GPIO2
Channel 1 - GPIO12... etc.
And control them same way as segments?
For each channel ability to select 3 or 4 color mode separately.
I do understand that you can't please everyone.

I guess at the moment there is no easy way around this?

Support for HTTPS endpoints & Basic Auth

Hey 🍪,

is there any way to address WLED endpoints from the (Android) app using https?

I want to expose my endpoints to the internet - at least for some time to play around. But for some basic security I want to rum them behind a reverse proxy with basic auth + SSL encryption.
The app seems to always prepend http:// to the entered hostname, so I end up with http://https://user:password@host as an entry, leading to a broken URL and no connection at all.
Basic Auth works using [http://]user:password@host at least for discovering the WLED but opening the panel of the individual endpoint there are several connection errors, probably caused by this one

Connect to ESP32 in AP mode

Is it possible to connect to ESP32 in AP mode? I don't have WIFI available and installing a router seems overkill.

Color palette drop down all black

On both of my android tablets the drop down doesn't show the names, only a black box. The chosen palette is readable in the field- beneath the palette symbol. Both Samsung galaxy tab a 10.1, -one old with android 4.2.2, one new with 9. , Wled app Version 1.0.3 and on the devices WLED_0.9.0-b1_ESP8266.bin. On mobile S7 with android 8 it's working fine. And at all it's working fine..except the a.m.

Is this project abandoned? No updates since 2019

Is this repo abandoned or has someone else forked this project elsewhere? No updates to the android app since 2019 and there is still a huge bug when powering on/off units.

IOS App effects GUI malfunction

Hi I am using the iOS app on iPhone 13Pro, unfortunately the effects are not properly configured in the GUI.

Apple App for Canada

When I search for Wled in Apple Store it doesn't exist. And when I clicked the link in here it says not available in my country.

Unexpected end of json

Hey all new to wled. Love it!

So I don't know if this belongs here or in the main part.

But I have noticed that if I cycle Thur effects to quickly. I start getting unexpected end of json errors.

Still trying to figure out what exactly triggers it. Anyone else experience this ?

Effects tab glitches out

On my IPhone 14 Pro Max the effects tab is glitched out. Which makes it really hard to select any effects.

Enable Timer when reloading Preset

Hi!

It would be great if I could set the shutoff timer when loading a preset.
Every I press the preset button it sets the timer to whatever I selected.

Saving timer settings could look something like this:

Would this be something worth implementing? Im no C# expert but if needed i could give it a shot 😄

Would also be great to have the presets show up on the first screen but thats for another time 😉

iPhone WLED app

I am really struggling to get my phone to find lights. I’m using node mcu with WiFi. It connects with WiFi on computer, but when I open WLED app on iPhone, it can’t find lights. I have made sure I’m on same network. I have tried multiple nodemcu’s, tried soft reset phone, tried to delete and re download app. Am I missing something?

FPP, Xlight and WLED

Great app! However, I have a problem. I am using WLED on a Wemos D1 Mini. I can control the D1 wirelessly with Xlights, but I would like to control it with fpp, and that's not possible. although the IP address is set correctly. what am I doing wrong?

Android App Dark Letters On Dark Background

Hello,

First up, incredible work, thank you for all of your hard work!

When I'm in the Android App and connected to a strip, when I go into the Settings to change the Time Zone, I can't see which timezone options exists, and it appears to be an issue with the dark colored text displaying on a dark background. If I'm outside the app and connected directly (such as while connected in AP Mode and a browser automatically opens) then the timezone dropdown selection screen comes up white and I'm able to see/select a timezone there. So it appears to be how the app renders the webview, rather than an issue within the browser displaying it.

Thanks again for an excellent set of tools to control my LEDs!

UWP Control UI Rendering

You need to set the WLED UI settings to force the mobile page if using the UWP app, because the classic UI only supports Chromium-based or Firefox browsers and does not work with the Edge rendering engine.

Hey again!

So, my ongoing project that interacts with WLED also features a device that is discoverable over the network via MDNS, and can be controlled via an embedded web UI.

As such, I copied the WLED app code and hacked it to work with my device. I still need to implement the proper api for mode and brightness...but for the most part, I've already got it working.

But, before I get too far, I just wanted to ask permission to use your app as a starting point for my own. I'll obviously remove all the WLED branding and links and stuff - but mention in the modded git that yours is the source. And hell, I might be able to submit some PRs for the original app too to update the xamarin version and other stuff.

Currently, I'm trying to create my own app based on this WLED App for my custom LED but I don't have the ESP yet. And now I need connect to the app, is there any dummy connection so the app can be used without the hardware?

I just upgraded my iPhone and went to download the app and found that it’s no longer in the App Store.

WLED device not accessible when phone is connected to ESP AP and mobile network at the same time

When the phone is connected to an ESP AP and a mobile network at the same time, the app searches for devices on the mobile network, therefore the WLED devices are never discovered or accessible.
Accessing the WLED devices with a browser on the phone is possible.
When the mobile network is switched off, and the app restarted, access to WLED devices works.

Ability to detect if WLED app is opening URL

FPP has a bunch of the WLED effects built in and they can be triggered via special effect pages in the FPP UI. It would be great if the normal WLED App could be used so users could use something they are familiar with. We can easily mimic the detection and the main commands via stuff in the /win and /json directories. Thus, the FPP instances can appear in the main list. However, when the user presses on the instance it goes directly to the main index page (normal for WLED) which would not be appropriate for this. What I was hoping to do is find a way to detect that it's WLED opening the page and redirect it to the appropriate page in the FPP UI dedicated to the WLED effects. I was hoping cookies set on the returns from the /win calls would be carried over, but they aren't (page is opened in the UI browser which is not used for the /win calls). Alternatively, if the user agent had WLED or something (like the /win calls), then we could do the redirect based on that.

Bug: Opening app freezes ledstrip.

Hi there,

This issue has been going on for a while, today i decided to troubleshoot it further.
When i open my WLED app, my light strip freezes/resets back to a default theme.
This does not happen when directly approaching the strip by entering its IP in a browser. This is why i think the app is the source of the problem. App on Android (Samsung S20 Ultra). WLED-App version 1.0.3 (According to app info)

All the sync features on the strip have been disabled.

I am not sure how to correctly provide all the information to fix this, so feel free asking me anything.

Effects Tab incorrectly formatted - iOS

Effects page formatting incorrect. iOS 16.4. Reinstalling doesnt fix.

not detecting wled when i upgrading api 27 to 30

I upgraded targeted framework to Android 11 and in manifest targeted Android version to Android 11 ( API level 30 ) .
Archive apk is not detecting the wled.
Please help me out.

Back button should navigate

The Back button (both hardware and in-app top bar) should navigate the webview back instead of returning to device overview immediately.

This applies to the case where there is a navigation history (e.g. the user is in settings). If the end of the navigation stack is used (main UI), the back button shall return to the device overview.

Problems with Install

It is the First time for me to work with This Kind of lamps and App, so sorry for my questions. My Problem is, that i Changed the wlan for the stripe to my "Home" wlan!
Now, the WLED-AP is no longer available as wifi. But, when i discover for the stripes in the App, the System didnt find it?!?

Hello i am trying to build the app on my mac and continue getting this error:

Error: iOS code signing key 'iPhone Developer: Christian Schwinne (K7LH967W38)' not found in keychain. (WLED.iOS)

I have my Apple ID logged in to Visual Studio but what do i do to get past this?

Starting discovery twice on mobile network will force stop app on Android

Not a major issue, since mDNS discovery is only working in local networks anyways.

Sites/groups & other features

It would be great if discovered WLED devices could be grouped (by sites). With possible automatic site detection from IP address/subnet pair.

Another feature could be hue strip to quickly set color (with solid effect) from main view.

If there are just a few devices (1 or 2) possible UI elements could be added to quickly change states (quick preset buttons, etc).
