MIPS gadgets don't consider branch delay slots.
MIPS arch has "branch delay" slots that get executed before jumps actually take place (listed after the branch in asm).
xrop doesn't consider this, so gadgets found could be incorrect.
Inconsistent repository description
The repository description says:
Tool to generate ROP gadgets for ARM, AARCH64, x86, MIPS, PPC, RISCV, SH4 and SPARC
But the README says:
currently supports generating ROP gadgets for x86, x86_64, arm, ppc and mips
So, RISCV, SH4 and SPARC don't seem to actually be supported.
riscv does not work for me
I have a problem with riscv binaries.
In the main.c I added riscv to the architecture selection. In riscv-gen.c the line 42 acc is always = 0. Therefore, in line 57 the if clause is always wrong.
So there is no output. Have I forgotten anything else?
Unfortunately it does not work for me.
