Add an easy way to update OpenMPTCProuter and OpenMPTCProuter VPS script.

It would be great to have a small packet detection that automatically categorize these traffic as (ping) high priority.
It should also detect, at any time, which of the WAN has the best ping to serve those connexions.

Actually, it seems that event ping packets are round-robined. It's easy to see that because my 2 DSL connection doesn't have the same base ping.

Can you write a little technical documentation, or maybe a schema explaining how it works, what are software used for ?

HAproxy only work for tcp.
Nginx can work for TCP and UDP.

I find that the MPTCP v0.93 (based on Linux 4.9) is published. I am wondering whether you consider to adopt Linux 4.9 and MPTCP v0.93?

I like Linux 4.9 based LEDE than 4.4 LEDE is that it supports new 802.11ac NICs, such as QCA9888, which is not supported in 4.4. And also 4.9 comes with tools that I like, e.g., bash, vim, etc.

I suggest to describe the used topology in a Wikipage.

I like to know how is used the Glorytun VPN, the ShadowSocks and Nginx in this project.
For example, the MPTCP works over TCP+subflows... then the connection to the VPS is TCP based. And what runs on top of this? The VPN?

As I'm not sure if this is the best architecture, I like to have a complete image of it.
So, can you post some diagram or document?

For example, when you googling for github mptcp a lot of projects based on MPTCP are listed. But this project isn't listed!

Perhaps you can try to include in the first line description something like:

Je revend les solutions OverTheBox, mais depuis les nouveaux tarifs je cherche une autre solution..

J'ai testé le Bonding VPN en RR et c'est fonctionnel mais avec le MPTCP j'ai clairement un meilleur débit !

Malgré les performances, j'ai quelques bug :

• Impossible d'utiliser des DNS custom (8.8.8.8), il faut obligatoirement passer par les DNS OpenMptcpRouter
• J'ai certains site qui lag, pour exemple www.megavoip.com

Mon infra (j'ai essayé de faire complet et compréhensible):
Internet --> Dédié SoYouStart --> ESXI 6.0 --> pfSense (NAT) --> Debian <-- VPN OPENMPTCP --> OpenMptcpRouter --> pfSense (WAN) --> ESXI 6.5 --> PC

Sur site j'utilise une freebox et une sfrbox en mode routeur, dhcp désactivé.
J'utilise une IP dédié pour MPTCP (entrant et sortant), la VM est dédié également.
Depuis une VM sur le SoYouStart, www.megavoip.com fonctionne très bien.

Donc, depuis la toute dernière version routeur client 0.12.1-8, le service de résolution DNS embarqué par défaut ne fonctionne plus en standard (après installation et configuration des WAN et Remote SS)

J'ai testé en downgradant vers 0.12.1-3 : tout fonctionne parfaitement bien dès le démarrage des instances WAN (ce qui n'est plus le cas en 0.12.1-8).

Need to make a lot of tests and optimizations for TCP. Shadowsocks optimizations doesn't seems to be enough.

• All IPv4 TCP congestions must be tested (Not sure OLIA is always better than LIA).
• Tests with and without MPTCP checksum
• Tests all shadowsocks encoding methods (rc4-md5, chacha20,...)
• Try to optimize some TCP settings

All tests will be made on MTCP 0.94.

Je suis passé à la dernière version d'OpenMPTCP sur le VPS et sur le routeur.
Impossible de faire fonctionner la redirection de port, alors qu'avec des versions
précédentes j'avais réussi à la faire fonctionner simplement et rapidement. (0.13 sur le routeur et 0.9 sur le VPS je crois)

J'ai installé un TCPDUMP sur le routeur OpenMPTCP :

Les paquets arrivent bien jusqu'au routeur mais ils ne vont pas plus loin et ne sont pas transféré sur mon PC...
La redirection est bien en place dans le routeur ..

Est-ce-qu'il y a eu une modification dans GloryTun ?
Comment diagnostiquer le problème ?

When compiling for a target using kernel 4.9, your kernel patch can't be applied.
This is because openwrt now bumped to 4.9.96 and your patch is for an earlier version.
You should clone a fixed (older) commit of openwrt to make it build successful (like you did here).

I'm trying to find different ways to solve this problem automatically for the future.
(Like creating the patch dynamically based on the actual kernel version of openwrt).
I would like to talk about this with you as I'm very interested in porting mptcp on openwrt.

Can you list your step to create 690-mptcp_v0.93_b674162.patch?
Did you create it by diffing mptcp kernel source against mainline kernel source?
Or against kernel with openwrt patches already applied?

Pour tester OpenMPTCPRouter, j'utilise une configuration un peu particulière, pour ensuite l'intégrer chez moi :
Côté VPS, le serveur est sur un ESXI derrière un PFSense
Côté routeur, il est dans une machine virtuel (IP : 192.168.1.1 côté WAN 1 et IP : 192.168.100.1 côté LAN)
Poste de test: une machine virtuel aussi (IP : 192.168.100.50)

Internet <=> Kimsufi ESXI 5.5 <=> PFSense <=> Debian 9 <-- VPN OPENMPTCP --> OpenMptcpRouter <=> PC sous une machine virtuelle

Lorsque seulement le shadowsock est activé, si je fais un diagnostique dans le menu sur l'interface Web, je n'ai pas l'IP du Kimsufi, j'ai celle de ma box et j'ai bien Internet sur le poste Client, le routeur 192.168.100.1 rebondi sur la Livebox 192.168.1.1
Si j'active le glorytun, j'ai bien l'IP de mon Kimsufi.
Par contre lorsque je teste sur le poste client je n'ai pas Internet...
Le ping ne passe pas :
Envoi d’une requête 'ping' sur google.fr [172.217.8.3] avec 32 octets de données : Réponse de 192.168.100.1 : Impossible de joindre le port de destination

La passerelle 192.168.100.1 ping bien

Si je fais le test directement sur le routeur avec l'outil de diagnostique ou en ligne de commande ça fonctionne bien (commande curl et ping)

Pouvez-vous m'aider à comprendre le problème ?

passer certains domaines par un des WAN pour éviter les soucis de détection d'IP

Actual Behavior

comme la connexion mptcp passe par un VPS, notre @ip de sortie est une ip de type serveur dédié. de ce fait, certains sites internet ne seront pas totalement disponibles. OVH a contourné le problème en utilisant des pools d'IP déclarés comme des connexions internet (genre ADSL). nous pourrions contourner le problème en définissant une whiteliste d'URL qui utiliseraient un WAN pour sortir.

When a new firmware is flashed, there is an option to keep configuration, and that should be automatically re-applied after reboot on new version.

Actual Behavior

Nothing is kept from old configuration, even between minor version update (ie v15.1 to v15.2 )

2. reboot....
3. no config is kept

avec les paramètres par défaut, certaines applications mobiles ne sont pas opérationnels (ex clash of clan) et certains accès internet ne fonctionnent pas (ex : battlenet ne fonctionne pas bien), ou encore la détection de connexion internet de windows est KO.

1. dans réseau -> interfaces -> "editer" lan
2. en bas, Serveur DHCP -> paramètres avancés
3. ajouter 6,8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4 ou tout autre serveur DNS de votre choix

This project is evolving to a very interesting tool. So, I suggest (only as a reference for the future, and not as a short-time requirement) to support more WAN interfaces.

For example, my current environment is: main xDSL connection, one Open WIFI connection, and one LTE connection (metered, so as a backup). Then, I like to mix these threee in the OpenMPTCProuter. So, I like to see sometime support for WAN1, WAN2 and WAN3.

Even, if you can scale up to WAN9 or WANn... please do it.

There is a problem with UDP through ShadowSocks in some cases.
This need to be fixed ASAP.

inactive SSH sessions are quickly disconnected, I would say 2 minutes.

1. open a SSH session to an outside host which has keepalive active
2. don't do anything on this terminal for a few moment
3. the connection disconnects

Un autre produit que j'utilise actuellement permet de spécifier dans les baux DHCP une passerelle spécifique pour forcer l'utilisation d'un WAN spécifique. cette fonction m'est aujourd'hui très utile.

Actual Behavior

la gestion des baux DHCP pour préciser l'adresse IP est déjà fonctionnelle.

So I would like to make a DMZ on my MPTCP.

I ever tried it when i used OTB official and try to do the same but we have more option here.

So to do my DMZ I only put (in network/firewall/forwards/)

Label : DMZ

Nom : DMZ
Protocole : UDP + TCP
Zone externe : Tried WAN and VPN
Port externe : nothing
Zone interne : LAN
Adresse IP interne : 192.168.100.30 (my server)
Port interne : nothing

but my server from outside still not accessible.

Ping on my Public IP and my DNS are ok with ping

Server accessible in lan

Have you got an idea to configure correctly it.

single port forwarding works well. I can easily chat using netcat on both sides.

Expected Behavior

all ports from the range should be forwarded as it work with single port forward

Actual Behavior

range forwarding doesn't work at all. instead, it seems that single port previously forwarded remains active.

great project, but i have a problem with the whatsapp call.
Whatsapp can't connect with the other call-partner.

Does UDP work over MPTCP and SS?

For now only Raspberry PI 3 and x86_64 is supported.
To be supported an arch need to work on a 4.14 kernel.

RPI3 is the lowest CPU power I can really support for 100Mb/s.

To help configure OpenMPTCProuter create a wizard.

Mais, n'etant pas à l'aise avec openwrt, j'aimerais connaitre le minimum de paramètre pour faire fonctionner le système, par exemple les différents endroit où rentrer l'ip du serveur vps, ou indiquer les dns, et s'il y a rentrer des paramètre sur le vps, une fois l'installation automatique faite.

Si vous avez un exemple de configuration assez détaillé, je suis preneur. (j'ai tenté la configuration sur le wiki mais en vain)

Glorytun TCP is used and working for VPS and OpenMPTCProuter.
Glorytun UDP is not working for now... Need to find why the tunnel don't go up.

In the Wiki section "Technologies" when commenting about the Glorytun package, please advise that the project uses the "Plain" (aka TCP) version, instead of the "regular" MUD version (aka UDP).

This info is useful when you like to understand how works the Open-MPTCP-Router.

To start, thank for the great job. Installation is very easy and is seems very complete (and similar to something ...)
I successfully complete VPS install (just had to change eth0 -> enp2s0 in 2 shorewall config files before rebooting).
On the routeur side, I'm using .vdi image in virtualbox, following the doc : WAN1 & WAN2 conf, Shadowsocks conf.

I think the doc lacks the GloryTun conf.
Maybe you should add some steps to test too.

While configured, my glorytun won't start.
On the summary page, it says that ipv4 and ipv6 network are not connected.
I can't "ping 8.8.8.8" from the router term.

On the interface page, status column isn't able to fetch datas.
There are some javascript syntax error in the firefox console.

Alors un petit bug dans le script VPS, qui empêche son bon déroulement jusqu'à la fin (méthode anti-newbie ?)
Il manque en effet le package "patch" pour pouvoir appliquer le patch NOCRYPTO.

Add per interface configuration for OMR-Tracker.
This can be useful to test some using dns, some using ping, and some using only gateway ping.

changed /etc/config/network config to 192.168.10.2 ,
then I could ping 192.168.10.1 .

same VM but with openmptcprouter-v0.9.1-1-g4af41a2-v0.9-9-g6715b51-x86-64-combined-squashfs.img,
made the config like the documentation said,
can't ping 192.168.10.1 .

sadly the problem isn't on my side.
any idea ?

Add an option to enable or disable the use of the tunnel for UDP and ICMP when available.
