Profiles:

Research Interest

My general interest includes emission and scattering processes on airless objects in the solar system (theory, observation, experimental data analyses, data reduction and related statistics and coding).

Currently I am working at KASI (Korea) as a postdoc researcher for NASA's SPHEREx (solar system science & pipeline development).

In theoretical approach, the main topics I focus on are:

  • Thermal radiation, radiation pressures from airless bodies.
  • DESTINY+ mission related (3200 Phaethon).

In observational approach, the main topics I focus on are:

  • Optical & near-infrared (NIR) polarimetry/photometry
  • Experience in HAWAII infrared array, as well as optical detectors
  • Experience in extra-effort for accurate photometry (flat-field analyses, statistics, instrument parameter analyses, absolute/relative photometry of trailed objects, ...)
  • Experience in detector parameter analysis (gain, readout noise, waveplate rotation, ...)

Selected Papers

First-author & selected N-th author publications

In prep: effect of fringe in NIR, dust ejection from Bennu, etc.

Coding & Education

Scientific tool development & astronomical data reduction lectures in Python.

  • Significant contribution to SNU Astronomical Observation classes (SNU_AOclass)
  • See the 📌pinned repos below.

kmtnet_toutatis's Issues

add seeing FWHM analysis of KMTNet observatories

During the internal discussion, Hong-Kyu Moon provided the FWHM data for observatoris of KMTNet.
Youngmin JeongAhn provided official FWHM log.

Observation condition including seeing is well-archived in the following page
http://kmtnet.kasi.re.kr/kmtnet-monitor/report/
You can find it by clicking "rep". Seeing is measured three times per night.

Add this and analysis of the FWHM values to the notebooks, as well as updating the observational journal of the original draft.
