There is a workaround for this issue though, and that is to place all CSS3-based syntax in its own file and then @import url("foo.css"); it.
I'd actually recommend this to most people as it would seem to me as if other simplistic parsers will also fail on this syntax (including Vim's syntax highlighter)
from spritemapper.
