Nvidia overlay CTD

ALT + R or ALT + Z in-game cause CTD
ALT + R or ALT + Z on menus no CTD, and it works, but if you press ESC to go back to game it CTD.

Hud lights can persist between weapons

Describe the bug
Hud lights can persist between weapons

To Reproduce

  1. Equip a weapon with a flashlight or laser enabled
  2. Switch to a different weapon
  3. Light persists between weapons

Expected behavior
Light should only work on weapons where it is toggled on. We probably just need to clean up the light(s) on hide animation

No video on launch?

Well, congrats on the alpha first of all!

Followed the installations instructions to the letter, but now when I launch the Gunslinger EXE thing out it's folder, the game seems to launch with audio, but no picture (I can hear the swish from the GSC video) - doesn't seem to matter how long I leave it, it doesn't eventually load or anything.

It's worth saying, I ran the game after downloading the new hands and stuff through that launcher bit and the game launched fine, it wasn't till adding the other various after that that the picture disappeared!

Figured I'd mention it, has me stumped so far. I just hope I'm helping!

Player becomes unable to do some actions after using consumables

After using a consumable, the player will be unable to sprint and interact with npcs or containers

Additional context
I didn't test EVERY consumable but I tested with about 10 or so, and every one caused the issue. Conjecture: could be that the using consumable animation state that disables sprinting and interaction just isn't ending?

Reload glitch bug

Describe the bug
When picking up any item or just ammo itself, it's possible to press the reload key and the weapon you have will reload extremely fast or instantly.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Equip any weapon you wish to reload
  2. Pick up any item that's on the ground.
  3. During the pickup animation, press the reload key and it should reload it extremely fast or instantly.

Expected behavior
If done correctly, this will cause your gun to reload stupidly fast or instantly.

Item pickup bug

Describe the bug
When trying to pickup items, it's possible that they won't be picked up in your inventory at all, but the animation will show that it's being picked up.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Find any items on the ground or at a table.

Expected behavior
This bug is more consistent when you're trying to pick stuff up from a elevated surface and not really an issue when trying to pickup items from the ground. Once this bug happens, you won't pick up any items at all, but the animation will show that you did.

Hud inertia wiggles at times

Describe the bug
Sometimes when leaning, the weapon can start wiggling. Seems framerate dependent

PiP scope not working when vanilla shaders are enabled.

Describe the bug
When enabling the vanilla shader from in-game options, PiP scopes do not work.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Enable vanilla shaders in-game settings.
  2. Use any PiP scope attachment.
  3. Attach it to the gun.
  4. And ADS with it.

Expected behavior
If you do all of these steps, once aiming the gun, the animation works fine as usual, but the scope shader doesn't.

Lighting flicker in skadovsk

Describe the bug
The light source near Owl in skadovsk produces some odd flickering behavior

Crash to desktop when shot at by AI with Wincheaster 1300 shotgun

Describe the bug
When being shot at by an AI that is using the Wincheaster 1300 shotgun game will reliably crash the game and return to desktop

To Reproduce
(7/7 times tested 100% repro rate) Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start new game and use the console command "g_god on" to make testing easier
  2. Go to the nearby sawmill
  3. Get shot by hostile AI in sawmill until game crashes
  4. See error - when a hostile AI shoots you with a wincheaster 1300 you will hear the shot and the game will crash

player will take damage from the AI shooting them but game will continue playing

I have only tested this with the zombie AI at the sawmill but the stack trace points to an issue with the weapon files, not something necessarily to do with AI so it shouldn't matter I don't think.

First Person body occludes headlamp more than it should

the entire first person body will occlude the headlamp, becomes more prominent when looking up

  1. boot into the game and get to a point where you can turn on headlamp
  2. turn on your headlamp
  3. See error - body will occlude headlamp even parts of the body that should theoretically be behind the headlamp

Reload with only bullet in the chamber will not function correctly

Reload will fail when attempted with only a bullet in chamber of currently equipped weapon and no bullets in the magazine

  1. Equip any weapon with more than one round in its magazine
  2. Fire rounds until you have no bullets in the magazine and one bullet in the chamber
  3. Press R to reload
  4. Reload animation will not play and magazine will not be set back to full

This appears to affect every weapon with the exception of single shot weapons and weapons without a magazine, I have not tested every weapon, just a lot of them but it appears to be a global issue in regards to weapons

Shader Night Vision does not recover from blowout/emission glitching

Describe the bug
If the player character has Gen 1 NODs active when subject to blowout effects, the distortion and glitch effects do not disappear after the blowout subsides

  2. Wait for a blowout to occur

Weapons with optics Cause Beef's NVG to break

Describe the bug
unholstering a weapon with an optic (even non-SVP optics) will cause beef's NVG shaders to break, the screen will go black

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. acquire weapon, compatible optic for that weapon, and a suit or helmet with NVG capability
  2. equip all components listed in step 1
  3. press "N" key to enable NVG
  4. unholster weapon with slotted optic if not automatically unholstered when it equipped
  5. See error - screen will display nearly black and NVG tubes effect will not be shown

NVG tubes will lower to be usable by player for low light vision regardless of equipped weapon

I thought this issue might be linked to the fact that I had nvg_view_through_scope set to false in system.ltx, but the issue persists with any mix of nvg_view_through_scope and nvg_stays_pda that I've tried. I know the beef's shaders probably are not enabled by default for a reason but I'm a tester and I like to break things so it seemed worth reporting

Crash to desktop when loading autosave from pause menu

CTD when loading autosave from pause menu (this crash happened when loading the autosave for "deal by the ranger station"

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. progress through the game until the game generates an autosave at a given plot progression point
  2. Pause the game and load the generated autosave
  3. See error - game will crash to desktop

Save will load and you will be brought back to the point in the game where the autosave was generated

Additional context
I wasn't able to get this to happen consistently, I was only able to get 2/7 attempts for replication, I will note that both the times it happened MAY have been because I loaded the save immediately after killing one of my fellow stalkers and failing the quest I was on. Normally I wouldn't make a bug report without a more consistent replication method but, I can submit this with a crash log and I thought it may be useful. I encourage feedback from the devs so I can shape my testing and bug submission methodology to best suit the most pressing matters.

Using a consumable while holding PDA will cause animation loop

Using a medkit while holding PDA will cause animation loop, player character will loop the initial putting away pda animation

minor bugs

A few minor bugs ive encountered, sometimes when talking to npcs the mouse cursor in game completely disappears and the only way to fix it is to reload prior save. Another is sometimes the sprint button just quits working and major cannot run, this typically happens when i would use a hercules or stalker energy drink.

Describe the bug
First bug: When grenades or explosions explode, they cause the image to go to level editor mode when using vanilla shaders.
Second bug: When picking up ammo or other objects, it's possible to a reload extremely fast or instantly.
Third bug: PiP scopes do not work when vanilla shaders are enabled.
Fourth bug: When picking up items it's possible that the pickup animation will show the item being picked up, but the item itself won't be picked up to your inventory and will stay where it's last position was.
Fifth bug: When using the RPG while it is loaded (not unloaded), it can cause a crash when aiming with ADS, althought i'm not sure if it's a consistent crash.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
First bug: Throw any explosive and once they explode in vanilla shader mode, they will cause the first bug.
Second bug: Pick up any dynamic object and try to press the reload key, if done correctly it will instantly reload your gun or other weapons.
Third bug: Enable vanilla shader mode and use any PiP scopes.
Fourth bug: Pick up any item and it may cause this bug.
Fifth bug: Use an RPG and try to ADS with it.

Expected behavior
No idea how all of this works, lol.

Hud tuner doesn't output to log with some specific scopes.

  1. equip ak101, pka red dot scope
  2. start hud tuner
  3. change position around
  4. check log, observe that nothing is printed

Hud tuner should output logs regardless of weapon attachment

Re-enable vanilla R4 renderer

At the moment, R4 renderer is not working, because we added new shaders that require new_shader_support to be enabled.

We need to disable these shaders from loading when new_shader_support flag is disabled.

What's with the shadows and fxaa?

I have a problem with shadows and smoothing. The screenshot shows that the shadows are too dark and the vegetation is not smoothed out.I've set the settings as in the guide.

Grenade Launchers, Rocket Launcher won't fire

Describe the bug
Inconsistent behavior with mounted UBGLs, GLs and Rocket Launchers

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Acquire and mount the GL on an AK-74 (presumably more guns but I wouldn't know I haven't tested it yet)

  2. Attempt to load a grenade into the GL and try to fire

  3. GL clicks indicating it's empty (and HUD shows empty GL)

Expected behavior
GL be able to fire when loaded.

After opening cutscene, can move and look around for a few second or so and then game crashes.

Explosion bug while vanilla shaders enabled

Describe the bug
Only happens in vanilal shader mode. When throwing a grenade, or any other explosive it can trigger the screen to be fullbright and after a second or less, the game will work normal as expected.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Use a grenade or any other explosive.
  2. Throw it.
  3. Wait for it to explode.
  4. Once it explodes, the game will be fullbright without any sort of shading.

Expected behavior
If done correctly, it just makes the shading of the game full bright and that's all.

Most noticeable when sprinting with a weapon in hand and jumping, the first person body will occasionally clip into the viewport.

RPG ADS Crash

When using the RPG, it can crash the game when you ADS only when it's LOADED.

  1. Pick up the RPG.
  2. Reload it.
  3. Hold ADS and it will crash.

It looks like that this crash is consistent and ONLY happens when the RPG is LOADED while aiming.

  1. Acquire a pistol and a detector and equip both of them
  2. empty the magazine of the pistol by firing all the rounds or by emptying it in your inventory
  3. pull out detector and draw pistol
  4. reload the empty pistol, see error

reload sounds will play even when the detector is in off hand

Mouse wheel change weapon doesn't work while sprinting

Describe the bug
Mouse wheel scroll change weapon doesn't work while sprinting. If you change weapon with number keys, it works correctly.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Begin sprinting with some weapon equipped
  2. Change weapon with scroll wheel
  3. Character stops sprinting, but does not change weapon
  4. Repeat steps 1-3, but change the weapon with binded key instead
  5. Character stops sprinting and changes weapon successfully.

Expected behavior
It should work the same way whether you change weapon with scroll wheel or keybind.

First person body appears in cutscenes

Describe the bug
First person body appears in cutscenes, and it looks weird

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Trigger a cutscene while first person body is active
  2. First person body can be visible while camera is active

Expected behavior
First person body should be hidden, or stay where the character is depending on the custcene

This is due to some missing functions Gunslinger scripts are expecting.

Aiming with binoculars crashes to desktop

Describe the bug
Aiming with binoculars will reliably crash the game and exit to the desktop

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. boot game and load a save or start a new game
  2. press "5" key to equip binoculars
  3. hold right mouse click to aim - game will CTD

Expected behavior
Player will be able to aim with the binoculars to zoom their view into the distance

CTD when Noah would take the player to the teleporter anomaly

Describe the bug
When selecting the "Let's go." dialog when Noah offers to lead the player to the plateau teleporter anomaly the game will fade to black and then crash to desktop

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Progress through the game until you receive the quest "Getting to the plateau: find out how to get there from Noah"
  2. Make your way to Noah's cabin and speak to him
  3. select dialog option 1. 3 times in a row (the final dialog choice will be "Let's go.")
  4. See error - game will reliably crash to desktop

Expected behavior
Noah and player will be teleported to the burnt farmstead and a cutscene will play where Noah shows the player how to navigate the burner anomalies and make it to the teleporter anomaly

PKA optic reticle is unusably small

Describe the bug
The reticle on the PKA optic is too small to be usably visible.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Boot game and acquire weapon compatible with PKA optic as well as the optic itself
  2. Attach PKA optic to compatible weapon
  3. Equip and unholster weapon with PKA attached
  4. Aim down sight
  5. See Error - reticle is very much too smol

Expected behavior
Reticle will be easily visible for aiming

PDA Mouse activity is inconsistent

Describe the bug
Sometimes when activating the PDA, the mouse doesn't activate when expected to.

To Reproduce
Not sure yet

Expected behavior
Mouse should behave reliably (only active while PDA is zoomed)

Weapon lasers and lights do not seem to stay in line with viewmodel

Describe the bug
during any rapid turn weapon lasers and light will lead where they seem they should be by quite a bit

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Boot game and acquire weapon capable of tactical light and laser upgrade modules
  2. equip laser and light modules
  3. activate either the laser or the light
  4. Turn rapidly or turn back and forth rapidly
  5. See error- laser and light emissions do not appear to follow viewmodel

Expected behavior
laser and light emissions will stay in line with the viewmodel so that the player can use them effectively
