Existing Features

• User can create, edit and delete their own profile
• User can view other users' profiles
• User can view the cities page, including a list of hints(posts_ related to the cities
• User can view all the hints they wrote on their profile
• A user MUST be logged in to create/update/destroy resources
• A user may only edit their own profile and edit/delete their own posts

Future Features

• User can submit comments to hints
• User can upload photos from computer or url. Currently user can add the URL
• User can view cities on a map

vagabond's Issues

Flash error messages

If a user tries to delete or add hints that aren't theirs it takes them back to the homepage, rather than just flashing an error message and remaining on the same page. You can check each page against the current_user and either remove the buttons to delete and edit or redirect to that hint page.

Auth for employees vs regular users

Only employees can leave "hints", while everyone can make a profile, leave comments, and favorite.

Visitors see edit and delete buttons on posts when not signed in

You can combine the logged_in? and current_user helpers in conditional statements in your templates.

Can't sign up

sign up page is giving me a 400 error

Image Upload Field Validation

When creating a new user, currently the profile image field doesn't have any kind of validation on it. Adding validation that checks for either a url or a file path, accompanied with a flash message, could stop unwanted data injection and better the user's experience.
