Tried to pull confirmed subtitles from both opensubtitles and amara, but keep getting chrome-extension://oanhbddbfkjaphdibnebkklpplclomal/images/empty.svg error message.

Update: Automatically loads with regular windows.
Deselecting 'Automatically search and load subtitles in future' disables the extension or the UI.

If instead of upload subtitles files to https://subtitles-youtube.herokuapp.com/upload/ saves in LocalStorage (Web Storage)?
Yo can see similar examples of how do that here:

• Loading webfonts with high performance on responsive websites
• Storing data in the browser with the HTML5 localStorage API

• User adds a subtitle (by search or upload)
• Ask user if subtitle is in sync and correct.
• If user says no, then do nothing.
• If user says yes, then upload it to a server.
• From next time show this subtitle to user as preferred option.
• Confirm from other users if preferred subtitle is correct.
• Mark subtitles from Amara as preferred by default

According to wayback machine this change happened during 2023.

It would be nice to be able to choose subtitles' font size and color

On full screen mode the fonts become very very small, almost unreadable.

at the beginning and ending of each subtitle it's display extra "rr" characters at the start and at the end

When the extensionfinds subtitles in Amara it loads weird stuff about Firefox (I'm using chrome).

it doesn't work anymore, maybe youtube changed their player

• if preferred subtitle for that language and video exists
• then automatically load it.

Youtube UI has been updated and we need to support it.

• The class name has been changed and the selector needs to be updated.
• Dark theme needs to be supported.

Please add a feature to download the subtitle being used. It would be extremely helpful to have that especially when corrections need to be made. The file with lyrics could be edited, then it could be resubmitted to one of the subtitle services.

How can I add subtitles to a video I am watching on YouTube and have it displayed using Chromecast. When I connect to chromecast the subtitles do not show on TV

I wanted to download Brazilian Portuguese , and using developer tools, I've switched from Chinese to pob and it worked great.

I was wondering if would be nice have all languages from open subtitles or perhaps an option to add/remove.

Works fine for opensubtitles in private windows.
Deselecting 'Automatically search and load subtitles in future' in the settings and refreshing causes the extension to be in a permanently disabled mode.

I'm creating a project and I was reading your source code, in your script.js at line 11 you have a function that prints results to the console.log. What I'm trying to figure out is where in your script you have a console.log message that prints the subtitle file contents when the user uploads the subtitle?

Hi @yashagarwal1411, first of all, many thanks for this plugin. It's really good. I loved it.

It's easy to search and also the features to sync (Precede/Delay) is AMAZING.

I was wondering if was possible to use similar script to implement in any other player.
Perhaps you have an idea how easy would be to implement in any player. I'm very happy to fork it and try it on my own, but I'm not sure what license is this library as well. Or perhaps, you'd be happy to give me some tips or help in another way.

I was thinking to implement as a popup(so we can edit some setups for any page, instead of prepend/append into html)... Please, let me know your thoughts.

I'm writing this issue to ask if it is possible to integrate .ass subtitles in your extension. This type of subtitle is very useful for the purpose of language learning (e.g.: it could be used along with the program jijimaku to add word definitions in the subtitle).

For eg.

URLs of kind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJID3-iAJ4Q work fine. But URL like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJID3-iAJ4Q&feature=youtu.be will break

I've recently added captions for a YouTube video, "The Wild Rover - Luke Kelly & The Dubliners" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DnR8v7X4zc). The captions are in Amara (https://amara.org/videos/OAP67rT5Zzrw/info/the-wild-rover-luke-kelly-the-dubliners/) and opensubtitles.org (https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitles/9459314/the-wild-rover-luke-kelly-the-dubliners-en). This extension NEVER finds those captions. I'd like someone to explain why.

This is similar to #41, but rather than saying the search is broken, I think the extension is trying the search, but it's not finding the right subtitles. I say this because I was watching another video "Beer, Beer, Beer" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRzS1QakBt0) and the extension loaded subtitles, but they were for SOME OTHER VIDEO. It was subtitles for "[OpenSub] Two.and.a.Half.Men.S12E12.HDTV.x264-LOL.srt" and many others that contained the word "Beer".
