nvram-save-restore-utility's Issues

the default color scheme is not friendly for light backgrounds

I recently used this utility to successfully save/restore my configuration around a factory reset after doing a firmware update that resulted in a "Your router is running low on free NVRAM" warning (issue #3). While that was successful I had to copy/paste a lot of the prompts because the text was unreadable on a terminal with a "light" background. It's possible the output of this utility would have been readable on a terminal with a "dark" background. Regardless, either

a) the default colors should be compatible with a "light" background, or

b) there should be an option to use colors that are compatible with a "light" background, or

c) the documentation should make it clear that a "dark" background is expected.

Is this project still maintained and usable?

I recently updated my ASUS AC-86U, after more than three years of not doing any updates, and am now getting the "Your router is running low on free NVRAM" warning. I'd like to "fix" the NVRAM settings using a utility such as provided by this project, but not if that incurs significant risk of bricking my router. If that is likely to happen I would prefer to live with the status quo (a working router that tells me there is a potential problem), or fix it by manually capturing every config page image and re-entering that info after a config reset.
