Visiting the page gives a "Page Not Found" error in Netlify style. It seems like it's broken.
Some sites have multiple sections, each with its own feed. A way to specify multiple different feeds would be appreciated.
This is just out of my curiosity, but many of use some hosting service (e.g. wordpress.com) or static site generators (e.g. Jekyll) and I want to know what they use to build it.
The scope of built with
might be more broad than just those. For example, I use https://simplecss.org/ to style my website and only that, that might be interesting for many others.
So, my proposal is to add built with
attribute so that we can learn more from how each other builds their website.
last commit for /site is from 1 year ago, are you maintening the support for the new PR ?

I think it would be great to have a client-side search.
jets.js is a super fast way of searching through tons of items quickly. Albeit it is a bit simplistic. It might be good for tag or name searches. Searching in descriptions might require more blown out search engine (later?).
I’m sure you’re probably aware of this, but with a directory data file and using the data deep merge feature, it’s possible to add the sites
tag as a default, thus saving contributors from having to worry about it. Just a thought! Thanks for putting this little directory together, it’s a great idea!
I made some visual changes to my website recently and noticed that the screenshot is not updated. Upon investigation and looking at the build script, it seems like it won't automatically do that, short of deleting the screenshot from cloudinary to get it regenerated - is that correct?
As an MVP this could just be a serverless form that emails me their site/tags. We're missin' out on a bunch of cool Personal Sites™ because a lot of folks don't fuck with git.
Hello,
I would like to use your git for one of my website.
Is it possible and how ?
I don't want use netlify for this.
Thanks in advance.
Hey @andybelldesign,
Thanks for the great website. I'd like to help you with styling and add improvements to this project. But I need help to run this project on my local. I tried to run npm install && npx serve
but it just shows all the files list in the browser and that's it.
:) :)
I added personalsit.es (of which my website has been part of for a long time) to the list of webrings my website is part of.
Most webrings provide links to the next, previous, and a random website in the webring, and I could see that myself.
What I can’t do is getting a random website in the list, and it should be fetching a random website in the list.
When clicking through to: https://jamiesnotes.com/
We've exceeded the free tier of Cloudinary lol. I think something like @11ty/eleventy-img will serve this need better. Not sure how to handle caching and re-requesting screenshots. Right now, if someone updates their site, I can just delete the image on Cloudinary and the app knows to re-screenshot.
This is super dangerous. Please hide it becuase someone can use it for bad purposes!

Hi, here's a list exported from my Chrome via my tabs extension manager (Spaces).
Turned it into a task list, we can check off any added.
I do try to always add any non-white-dude sites I find with more bias to try balance it, but alas, it may be still quite skewed.
When you subscribe to the All Sites feed, the links in the feed all point to https://hankchizljaw.io/sites/*
instead of the correct URL of the site.
I think it might be neat to pull through any favicons.
Also any personal sites could be using a PWA manifest.json and thus have free metadata, falling back on the meta tags in the head. Which could help with client-side searching
In merging a batch of PRs, I found there were a bunch that were missing the ---
frontmatter prefix/suffix, or the .md
file extension — both of these feel like requirements to an older version of the project; I think we can update so that all files in /sites
are built, and maybe even built with a YML parser so the ---
isn't required either?
I wrote a quick script to pull tags from the different sites to help me figure out what to use. Figured I'd drop it here. Was thinking a possibility would be to add it to the readme or an example file to help folks choose. Pasting them here for reference.

Hello,
Isn't it cool to have Up voting system for each site? Who has most votes stay in the top.
Just an idea.
You might consider running somewthing like Planet Venus on a sub-path of personalsit.es, that aggregates and reposts from those sites in your set which have RSS feeds. The purpose would be so that someone hitting personalsit.es who wanted to very quickly get a sample of the kind of thing they might come across on any given site could visit that sub-path (/sample? /explore?) and scan over some posts to see what they are missing!
