What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Rarping whatever you want on a Fedora (or any red hat like I suppose)
distribution
2. The reception timeout seems to be infinite if there is no network activitie.
3. Any packet crossing your network card will end the reception

Rarping must wait for a reply, for a timeout set by default or user.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS
2. Install SVN
3. Download read-only svn checkout
4. Run "make"
5. Examine warnings from GCC, specifically:
"rarping.c:353:9: warning: ISO C90 does not support the ‘hh’ gnu_scanf 
length modifier [-Wformat]"
6. Run "make install"
7. Execute rarping as specificed in the help file
8. On known hosts that are in my ARP tables, I get no response. :(
9. Upon terminating, I see x probes are sent and no response was received.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see responses from certain MAC addresses that I know are on my LAN.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
SVN trunk, revision 52, read-only on Ubuntu LTS 12.04.4
