Ubook is the Youtube of books

Tech Used:

• Ruby Version: 2.5.3 (x86_64-linux)

• Rails Version: 5.2.3

• Postgres

• RSpec

Instructions:

• Initiate Webpack > npm install

• Run > rails s

• Run > npm run webpack

ubook's Issues

Set up Ads/Monetization

It would be nice for the app to deploy with ads in between the pages.

• Could be based on a timer (every 6 - 10 minutes)

Mailer for Account creation.

Needs to grant user privileges to post books and leave comments. Preferably using SendGrid as a service for user-related emails.

Cannot go to account from another user's profile

If you are viewing another user's profile while logged in you currently cannot go to your own profile/account using the link by clicking on your own name. Probably just a mere routing adjustment is all that's needed.

Setup CRUD Authorization

Right now anybody with a little coding prowess can CRUD the database. Ubook will need legitimate authorization to allow only Authorized users to CRUD the database.

Coal theme

Dark/night/coal theme for the site. Possibly get this working for the rendered PDF.

AWS

Now that a Privacy.com account is set up we can go ahead with the AWS server. Ubook will need to be hosted on AWS.

Setup Alerts for events relevant to users.

R&D then execute Alerts for things that happen in the app. Can start with basic stuff like post "replies" and "likes" for the User's uploaded books.

ePub utilization

Add ePub support to complement the PDF support.

We could probably use React-ePub
