hwcpp's Issues

HwCpp overrides BMPTK's cross-platform toolchain settings

BMPTK's makefile.local appears to be intended for setting local toolchain paths, and it currently sets these paths depending on the host platform.
However the makefile.link in this repo overrides whatever crossplatform checking is done by BMPTK by setting specific Windows NT values. BMPTK's settings are ignored due to the use of ?= for variables that are already set in HwCpp.
This breaks builds on Linux.

This issue concerns the following variables:

  • GCC-AVR
  • GCC-ARM
  • STM32LU
  • PYTHON
  • ARM-EABI

BMPTK can already set all of these for Windows & Linux, so why not remove them from HwCpp's makefile.link?

Documentation Fixes

So I know this project is "not ready for common usage", etc... but you have talked publicly about it, referenced it, documented it etc., so now I'm here. ;-)

I'm reading the docs to try to get a better understanding of the programming methods you're using, and seeing several small errors, which I'd have no problem submitting fixes for... except that it's written in M$ Word format, which is kinda hard to collaborate on via GitHub.

So I will volunteer to convert the docs to markdown as-is, if you think that would be an acceptable solution.
