I wanted to ask you how hard is it to customise AwesomeWM via lua language. Is it easy or hard?
It depends. Base things like keys, colors, panel appearance can be easily tweaked without any lua knowledge. Fancy things like custom widgets or tricky windows behavior may require basic scripting skill. In general I would say Awesome isn't the easiest WM to maintain. But it's fair price for its transparent and flexible design where you are free to extend and alter very core WM mechanics.
You can visit Awesome screenshots thread from here, if you haven't already. A lot of nice user configs there to demonstrate different level of WM customization from simple appearance polishing to some insane script magic.
Where did you learn how to customise AwesomeWM as I would like to also learn?
First of all read the Awesome API docs, most of the answers can be found there. There are useful recipes on official cite. In the end you can dig into source code of Awesome lua libs, it's nice source of lua code examples.
Do you have the config file for rxvt terminal, could I have a copy of it please?
I have no special config for rxvt, but here is color scheme from .Xdefaults
if that what's you mean.
I was also wondering could you please do a video tutorial on how you customised awesomeWM
Highly unlikely, sorry. I believe such type of material should be text based and there are a lot knowledge sources by the links above. I'm afraid I can't offer something extra.

Did you modify the default AwesomeWM shortcuts?
Yes, a lot.
Is it using Vim-like shortcuts?
No.
Is there some tutorial available to teach how to use tiling window manager since it seems like there is way too many shortcuts for me to learn?
Not tutorial, but this config has nice key helper build in. Just press mod4+F1
for global key list. Also a lot of pop up widgets has own keys layout which will block and replace main keys while widget active. For example to activate key sequence widget press mod4+c
and pressing mod4+F1
next will show you sequence keys tip.
Awesome is extremely flexible WM, and keys scheme in this config heavily adapted for my personal habits. Rather then learning keys you always can rebind them according your own point of view. Just check the keys config file (this for ruby theme for example), remove unused keys and add your own.
