We design the app to reduce the stress of academic writing. Frequently it can be problematic to maintain track of several numerous scholarly articles when trying to prepare a paper.

Fish + AI Business - Fish-Nose

Fish have super good noses that can smell all kinds of things! Well, we made a computer fish nose that can smell fish too! This fish nose machine can smell what kind of fish it is, like if it's a Hoki fish or a Mackerel fish. It can even smell which part of the fish it's sniffing, like the head or the tail. Sometimes the fish get mixed together by accident and the fish nose sniffs that out too!

If stinky oil from a boat leaks onto the fish, the fish nose machine can smell that - yuck! It's good at finding fish that got oily and shouldn't be eaten. The best part is the fish nose knows each fish apart by their smell, like Sally the Hoki and Sammy the Mackerel! Our fish nose makes sure all the fish stay safe to eat. Pretty cool huh?

Personal introduction

My goal is to leave the world a better place than I found it. I plan to bring that goal into reality by creating technology that improves the quality of life. These goals have motivated BE Honours (First Class) in Sofware Engineering. This objective has led me to a contract in Software Development at NIWA, collaborating with scientists and physicists to publish their research on our oceans and atmosphere to a global audience. I am currently undertaking a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. Software is a medium to explore my scientific curiosity and contribute a meaningful change.

ionic-scholar's Issues

Sort by Citations

The number of citations for a paper is often considered a heuristic for the quality of a research paper.

We should be able to rank our search results by the number of citations (rather than the default of alphabetically).

CI/CD

Add a GitHub workflow to the Repository.

This can be used to automate the build and test process.

We can use matrices to test cross-platform compatibility on the platform.

Metadata

The metadata is still set to the defaults for a generic app. When I save the applications to my home screen, it still has the default ionic favourite icon and title.

Favicon

A favourite icon needs to be designed for this application. Once made it must be added to assets directory in the public folder.

At the moment, the application uses the default ionic favourite icon.

PDF is NULL

Accessible Anchor Tags

The href attribute is required for an anchor to be keyboard accessible. Provide a valid, navigable address as the href value. If you cannot provide an href, but still need the element to resemble a link, use a button and change it with appropriate styles. Glossary

Goal

Store a glossary of words, with definitions. Tags for the subject matter. And Latex references to the original source. This is ideal for writing reports or consolidating continued research on a subject matter.

Success Criteria

There is a new part of this site that lets a user build their own glossary of words. These glossary entries have a name, description, tags and reference (not compulsory).

Quotes Page

Goal

Make an individual page for storing quote(s) for a paper.

Task list

• Quoted Page.
• Number of quotes.
• CRUD
• click copies quote to clipboard

Success Criteria

There is a seperate quotes Page as a chs of each paper in the library. A user can edit these as they wish. Tapping the quotes button brings the user to the list of quotes.
