LavSeeker

LavSeeker shows toilets listed in OpenStreetMap. A long click on a toilet in the list will show the toilet in a map application. You can also allow the app to use GPS. The toilets for your current location are then displayed in the first tab in the app. (This will overwrite the city in your first tab.)

The data is provided by OpenStreetMap.

Contributing

If you find a bug, please open an issue in the Github repository, assuming one does not already exist.

• Clearly describe the issue including steps to reproduce when it is a bug. In some cases screenshots can be supportive.
• Make sure you mention the Android version and the device you have used when you encountered the issue.
• Make your description as precise as possible.

If you know the solution to a bug please report it in the corresponding issue and if possible modify the code and create a pull request.

lavatories's Issues

Add repository embed image

You should be able to add a logo / embed image for the GitHub repository. See

Toilets without their own POI are not displayed

Unfortunately I don't see the toilets which don't have their own POIs, but are tagged within another amenity entries, like libraries and other public buildings.

It would be great if these toilets are also shown.

German special symbols are displayed incorrectly

for example: Ü -> ZÜRIWC (see screenshot)

Allow zooming using two fingers on the map instead of +/- buttons

Describe the bug
It is not possible to zoom in and out on the map using two fingers. Only by using the +/- buttons

How to Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open the app
2. Go to toilets
3. Try to zoom in and out on the map
4. See that it is only possible by +/- buttons

Expected behavior
Allow zooming by using the fingers.

Integration with everydoor

I would like to be able to easily jump to the position of a toilet in everydoor if possible.

Add LavSeeker to Taginfo Projects

Show the OpenStreetMap community what data you are using. Add LavSeeker to the list of Taginfo Projects.

Play system warning when installing??

Describe the bug
Play system protect from Google sees this app as harmful, I've installed tonnes of fdroid and APK files and this is the only app I've seen it on.

How to Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Install via fdroid or droidify
2. This warning comes up, why?

Expected behavior
Play protect shouldn't see it as harmful?

Just an appreciation post

Just wanted to stop by and let you know that this app gives me so much faith in humanity and can be absolutely invaluable for so many people. I certainly know it's come in handy for me. It's for real a shining example of free software doing what it does best

I know that sounds dramatic considering how it's a bathroom seeker but for people who are homeless or otherwise in a state of urgency away from home, this helps solve a huge public good in a user friendly way. especially in places where public bathrooms are hard to come by or spot (most of the US). it's a problem a lot of people don't pay much mind to

so, with absolutely no caveats, thank you for making one of my favorite apps. I hope you understand the value of what you do and that other people catch on and make use of it as well.

German Umlauts and Eszett (ä, ö, ü, ß) not displayed in addresses

In the addresses you can see umlauts and ß being replaced with a question mark symbol:

1. Add a German speaking city
2. Go to "toilets"
3. Check addresses to see that umlauts and ß are replaced by question mark symbols

ä, ö, ü, ß are displayed

When the app asks if I like it, I star "spritpreise" instead of "lavatories"

Describe the bug
Just a glitch: The app asks to star it on github. When I click the button, it drops me on the wrong project: spritpreise

How to Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Wait for the app to ask if you like it
2. select "star on github"
3. project page of "spritpreise" is opened instead of "lavatories"

The current location point is not displayed

Describe the bug
I don't see my location marker on the map. Accordingly, I cannot evaluate which of the nearest found places is more convenient for me to choose.

How to Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Enable GPS on your smartphone
2. Launch the LavSeeker, granting it the permissions it requested.

Expected behavior
The map always shows a marker for my location. When you click on the corresponding interface button, the map moves so that the mark is in the center of the map window.

Ability to open a note

Hi, I would like to open a note if the lavatory is missing opening hours or similar.

Feature request: Find location by network

Hello,
this app is a great idea! Thank you!
Currently it finds the location only by GPS. Depending on the current location this may take a long time while other apps already found the location by network. Can you add this feature?

UI Improvement suggestion

Hi,

I use this app and it's a good app. I have a suggestion that can be useful. It would be great if we can see on what item we clicked when we select a toilet. Because sometimes, I click on a toilet and the circle appear on the map but then I forget about what toilet I select in the recyclerView. We can do this by changing the background color by example.

If you think it's a good idea, I can do it if it's possible.

Error when trying to retrieve location using photon

com.android.volley.NoConnectionError: java.io.IOException: unexpected end of stream on com.adnroid. ok. http.Address@7f2e8
I'm on lineageos 17.1.
I reckon it has to do with photon requesting the locations via unencrypted http?

Add Apks to releases

I personally rather install stuff using obtainium directly than installing from fdroid, so adding the apks would be nice

Feature request: Use Gps without the need to add location

As far as i see, i need to manually add any location first to be able to use the current location button. When traveling a lot, a fixed position does not make sense.
The possibility to always (and only) use the current position without the need to manually add a fixed position beforehand would be great

New Logo Suggestion

Came up with it myself in Inkscape... All SVG assets used are from "SVG Repo" under the CC0 licence.

ZIP contains all SVGs used to make these, and PNG variations previewed below.
