cookie-dialog-monster's Introduction

Cookie Monster Dialog

Cookie Monster Dialog is a browser extension that hides cookie consent dialogs without changing user preferences. By default, we do NOT accept cookies (except in a few cases where the pages do not function without accepting them). You can report broken sites with a single click, which will create an issue in this repository to be fixed promptly.

Footer in the wrong place

Hi.
Using MantisBT, the footer was at the bottom of the active window (and not at the bottom of the page). However, when scrolling to the end of the page, it stayed where it was on the page and was covering elements of the website. When I scrolled the page, the footer was moving up accordingly.

After deactivating cookie-dialog-monster, the footer was back where it belongs.

Issue with youtube

Since the latest update I have had a few issues with youtube regarding scripts and "Youtube Preview and Ratings" and various popout extensions such as "Youtube Popout Player" on Waterfox G3. each time I popout or preview a youtube video I just get a black screen however after disabling your extension I can now see the videos again and everything works as they once did.

After updating...

After each CDM-update, all websites where it was disabled (because it broke\breaks something) have it enabled again.
Well, that was a clumsy way of saying that individual website settings are lost after each update.

By the way, here is a thought\suggestion. Would it be possible or useful to have some indication of when CDM is active on a website? Pop-up, different colour for the icon or some information in the drop-down menu. I think it would make diagnosing problematic websites somewhat easier.

Report site on right click is missing

I saw this option once, used it and now I cannot report more broken sites (e.g. https://www.typescriptlang.org/play). The option in right click menu is always missing (regardless if I have CDM enabled or not on current site). Or maybe I am doing something wrong?

Can the report site option also be used for websites where CDM causes problems (when blocking cookies) or should it simply be disabled for those site?

Extension effects are unclear

Hi, i'm looking for replacement for the I Don't Care About Cookies extension, and found about this one. I'd like to give it a try but it's rather unclear what this extension does exactly.

Does it only hides pop-ups asking for your consent ?
Does it accept all cookies by default ?
Does it reject all cookies by default ?
Does it sometimes accept, sometimes reject, sometimes hides consent pop-ups ?
