Java 7 compatibility

A student emailed me with interest for this, and upon re-trying this out myself for the first time in 2 years, I've noticed that it doesn't compile under Java 7 anymore...

One would have to replace some of the internal com.sun.* APIs which they had used (but shouldn't have) with the now available newer stuff from the The Java Image I/O API (see e.g. http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/imageio/spec/imageio_guideTOC.fm.html and http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/2d/images/index.html), around the http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/javax/imageio/ImageIO.html & Co. API.

PS: I'm now also seeing a Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sun.gluegen.runtime.DynamicLookupHelper - this one only on runtime upon launching JAlice.launch (which used to work 2 years ago, on Java 6) - this seems to be something missing from OpenGL - unclear & no time right now to investigate if Java 6 vs. 7 etc. related.
